    That's exactly how my mom used to make them!!! So yeah, guess it's a southern thing. :lol 

    They're actually quite tasty that way, otherwise I can't handle pears, too 'grainy'.

    The new thing this year has been a potato salad recipe that came together. We use red skin potatoes and the dressing is taken from a coleslaw we've been working on for a while. We've been having it with seared steaks dusted with lawry's.

    triple bacon cheese burger with pepperjack habanero cheese and pork fried breaded tenderloins in place of the top and bottom hamburger bread buns now thats my idea of a all meat sandwhich folks

    Steak (nicely marbled NY strip, & ribeye, and t-bone being my favorites), chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, roast veggies (red & green peppers, asparagus, onions, garlic), garlic & cheese breads, garlic smokies, and cedar planked salmon with various flavored wood chips for smoking.

    So... basically everything that isn't a pasta, rice or salad. Don't do much homemade burgers, but might give them more of a shot this summer.

    My parents know how to make it, but I plan to learn it as well- so I can have a BBQ overload at my house too. ^_^

    Ribs coated twice in both regular and honey barbecue sauce.
    Nathans hotdogs
    And cheese burgers all cooked on the grill
