Nothing would have been worse at this point for him than getting locked in to the winner's contract by Simon and Company and having them try to mold him into the pop idol they wanted.
That said, I hope to god he doesn't go to Fuel. While they've had the occasional song worth listening to, and he did a GORGEOUS rendition of one of those songs on the show, I think he's capable of so much more than what he'd have the chance to do with them.
Here's to hoping he goes solo or maybe even forms his own band with some other talented folks. I'd support him, as having him and Taylor on Idol this season made my wife's favorite passtime almost bearable for me. |

If not for Chris, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Taylor gives a good performance too, though in a completely different way.
