Rant but has anyone else had this problem on ebay before?

As long as the seller ships during the time frame he/she selected for his auctions, then there should be absolutely NO problem.

That information is right there for the buyer to read. If the buyer does not like that, the buyer should not bid. Period. Fullstop. She bid on it, she agreed to it. She has no right whatsoever to demand or bitch after the fact. Instead of bitching and whining about his shipping time after the fact, when she damn well should have seen what was stated on the auction, she should have found another auction with faster shipping.

It's disgusting that she's now lying about the item because she's so damn desparate to screw him over due to her own fucking stupidity.

Not every seller on ebay can get to the post office on a constant basis - people have lives. Many sellers on ebay are just people selling their own stuff and it's not their day to day job. Ebay continues to be more and more of a hassle for these sellers for no reason since buyers can choose not to bid if they don't like a 3-5 day shipping time.

    It's that simple.

If you're so bothered by a 3+ day shipping time, look for auctions that offer shipping within 24 hours, and don't bid on auctions with longer shipping times. You have that choice to use.

^ Some sellers wait to ship for the benefit of the buyers as well.

One buyer I get TF toys from does mass shipments every 2 weeks to reduce the price of shipping. Saves me a few bucks.

O/P. If you have all the paperwork from Ebay and paypal and USPS- go to your local Police Dept and file a police report for Grand Larceny and / or Credit card Fraud - felonies.

The buyer is trying to circumvent ebay and paypal by going with a charge back and at this point you need to protect yourself, and the best way would be with official police reports. Also let ebay and paypal know as well, because they would have been defrauded as well.

And as other have said - doing a charge back on a paypal purchase pretty much voids any protections and will most likely cause an account to be closed. maybe the buyer is doing this thinking he/she will have a closed account and paypal can't come after them

I've read plenty of horror stories from other members here in regards to their selling experience. It sucks donkey dick that this happened. But yea...I hope you get your money back and the buyer taught a very good lesson.

Maybe afterwards...you can be an extra nice guy and send her a free copy of hooked on phonics :D  j/k.

Thanks for the support. I have a bad feeling this isn't going to play out well for me. Ebay/Paypal said its in the hands of the credit card company. At that point, if they side with her, I will have to pay paypal back the purchase price. The reason I sold it was to pay 2 bills off and see a dr about my depression, and now it just piles on.

Ebay did this to me once. ONCE. And I've never sold anything with them again and nor will I.

So I have another update. Apparently the woman is willing to drop the chargeback if I refund her $100. Is this my best bet so I don't possibly lose all the cash and the console? I feel like I am being black mailed for doing nothing wrong = (

Do not give in. She is counting on you to become frightened and tired of dealing with her. Become aggressive.

Gather documentation of your policies, eBay's decision, PayPal's decision, her personal information as you have it, her attempt to finagle money out of you, etc. Contact her credit card company about this.

Take all of the same to a cop, as suggested.

If she somehow manages the chargeback, send her to collections.

Do not accept the refund bargain. This will become a sign of your guilt.

This woman is trying to bilk you, plain and simple.

    Ebay:
Sorry to hear this...I actually just bought a thundercracker off of ya...I understand why you were concerned with the shipping now after reading this. I hate it when people like this do this crap. I agree with cro here, I think she is banking on making a scene with all of this in the hopes that you will be scared out of it. Im not a seller, but isnt she almost out of cards here. I mean if she loses this, thats all she can do right?

This is partly why as a buyer on ebay, I am very flexible with sellers as I know they risk alot to play ebay's game. Hopefully good things come to good people.

Go to the Police right now.. You have a documented case of Blackmail right in front of you!!! And if it's across state lines because the original amount is above $250, its FBI Time! Grandy larceny, Credit card Fraud, now Blackmail across state lines....

Definitely. Collect together all the evidence and go see the law about this right now. I bet with a bit of digging they'll discover she's pulled this shit on more people than just the OP.

This woman took the fight away from ebay and Pay Pal to outside parties and now so must the OP.

Along with what everyone said about contacting the authorities, I'd say the appropriate response ranks right up there with this:

Well unfortunately she didn't contact me with the offer, my paypal "claim specialist" said to try and contact her and see if we could work something out. He said to offer like $100 refund in exchange for her dropping the chargeback. He recommended this as he said, she can claim she signed for the box but it had nothing in it or bricks, and I have no leg to stand on when it comes to the chargeback case. After googling other peoples horrendous ordeals with this same situation, I don't know what's best. Apparently having tracking on a package and sign on delivery, means nothing as the seller could theoretically send a box of bricks. So other than that, he said there's not much evidence to counter her claims EVEN with her opening one dispute saying the item wasn't as described. Idk what to do at this point. I don't want to be out $500 plus a ps4

Wish I could be of help but thats so convoluted I can't even wrap my mind around it.

All I can say is- contact her in writing so that everything is saved. Dont do anything over the phone unless you can legally record the conversation.

Paypal rep told you to offer her money? THAT sounds like a scam. She could have ripped your phone number and had someone call you.

You have TONS to stand on in a chargeback case - and as Ebay has backed you each time, THEY should be held accountable for any refunding. You provided the service and product as described. You need to call Ebay yourself and ask why they would tell you to offer money for a completed sale the person has tried to keep extorting you on. They probably didn't.

Contact Ebay, YOUR BANK, the FBI - ALL OF EM. Have EACH incident in hand and ready to be emailed and dispersed, including the tracking info.

In fact, you should contact Paypal and let them know an employee pretty much advised you to bribe in order to cancel a chargeback. Did you get the name of the employee that talked to you?

Edit: while annoying, it sounds as though she has this process down pat. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that she's a serial abuser of Paypal/Ebay's policies, much like some people abuse the legal system by spamming lawsuits and trying to force a settlement before going to court. By not giving in, you're doing yourself a favor along with everybody else she'll try to scam in the future.

Pretty much what everyone else has said here, contact the authorities. She's clearly trying to steal from you and since the amount is so high, it should be considered a felony. I would even recommend calling the police in her town and having her arrested. Also might call your local police and have them come to your house to verify that you no longer have a PS4 in your possession. Then, provide copies of both police reports to her credit card company and then see how the chargeback goes. Whatever you do, DO NOT take this lying down. Fight for yourself, you did nothing wrong.
