CLERKS II The Passion of the Clerks

CLERKS II The Passion of the Clerks
Tagline: They Still Don't Like You. In Fact, They Like You Even Less.

The sequel picks up 10 years later. "It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s. Those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that same exact situation, but in a place where it's time to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex," Smith said during an interview at his Hollywood office. "It's: What happened to these dudes?"
A calamity at Dante and Randall's shops sends them looking for new horizons - but they ultimately settle at Mooby's, a fictional Disney-McDonald's-style fast-food empire. Free from his dead-end job (and lodged in a new one), Dante begins to break free of his rut, planning to move away with his clingy fiancé. Dante is ready to leave the horrors of minimum-wage New Jersey behind, but Randal - always the more hostile of the two - starts to become overwhelmed by his own rancor.

I read awhile ago that Kevin Smith planned on retiring the characters of Jay & Silent Bob, but promised Jason Mewes he could play the Jay charcter again if he got clean, as a motivation to get Jason off heroin.
Kevin Smith's wife is in this one again, as is Ben Affleck and Jason Lee. Rosario Dawson is a newbie, but could be interesting.
I'm excited to see it.

I think there was a thread (or two?) on this a few months ago, including a link to the trailer. If memory serves, drippy was the one that first posted the link.

However, I'm A) no mod and B) not planning to actively worry about it, so...uh...yeah. Technically old news, but I'm not keeping score.

EPISODE 4 IS UP! This time around, we discuss THE RISE OF THE SUPERSTAR CUSTOMIZER!

You know, I'm a huge fan of Kev's work. But I'm just not feeling this at all. I know he promised this to Jason and all, but it's time to move on. Jersey Girl was a step in the right direction, this feels like 3 steps back.

As I mentioned in the thread from way back when, this is one of the most unnecessary movies in cinematic history. It's also a totally wrong move for Smith to make.

Though more Rosario Dawson in movies is never a bad thing.
