Yeah, it's the whole framing of the argument that has drawn so criticism. It's a ridiculous amount o increase and only the position of the workers wanting a bump. Huh, wasn't name-calling you at all. Just pointing out that the extremes of the both sides of the argument do nothing to help achieve a proper solution.
It would help them out and put more money in their pockets but unfortunately when making crazy demands you're right they wouldn't go for it despite it helping them
It'd be as fair as anything else, because there are no guarantees in life. There are people who strive to better themselves and qualify in fields that later becomes obsolete or move overseas. If you double the pay for fast food workers, all those educated qualified people could literally take that job at McDonalds rather than bitching about how they'd be better off there.
I think we all know the right answer a small wage increase. Our system isn't perfect but better than most. It would be nice if the fatcats would share a bigger chunk but that wont happen in a fast food battle .maybe if stephen hawking ran for president
I realize that, but it's the same principle. Twisting a nut, making a hamburger. Skills that can be developed in a day are not marketable and should be rewarded as such.. Maybe people will try a bit harder if they are not given everything...
Well, then it seems to me both parties need to get around the table and talk compromise. $15/ hour untenable, okay, what about $10? The issue isn't going to go away: but I don't envy the negotiatiers on either side.
realistically, I doubt anyone expects the $15 an hour. You start high and bargain your way down. If you start out by being reasonable, it can get whittled down to an insult. exactly.
Well then, don't I just look like a pop ****. It appears that we have a new chairman, step aside Transtrekkie!
Oh I'm sure its barganing posture but starting that high seems excessive and welcomed a little outrage from others.
ok I guess most people here have never bartered? They don't actually expect to get $15 an hour... just tactics. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Surely as a society you should be able to agree that a full-time job should allow a basic level of living.
