Ok. This works on another board I'm on, as we have a bunch of wrestling fans. So, instead of having a new thread started every week, or every PPV, we just keep this one going. I did a quick search to see if you guys had anything like this, and you didn't so I hope I don't tick off someone with this. Anyways, onto the good stuff. WWE's Survivor Series last night. Not the best PPV I've ever seen, but not the worst either. First match is Booker T, with his skanky wife/drag-queen wanna be Sharmell, against Benoit in the first of their "Best of Seven Matches" series. Booker follows Eddie Guerrero's (RIP) example, and cheats by having Sharmell distract Benoit and use the ropes to pin him. Bischoff is shown in the back, warming up for his match against Teddy Long, and is approached by McMahon. Bischoff says that he will take a page out of McMahon's book, as he is going to screw John Cena tonight. Cena, of course, is standing behind Bischoff, saying "So, you want to screw John Cena? Its not my thing, but do what you like." Bischoff leaves, and McMahon starts talking Ghetto to Cena, including "What's up my, n----". McMahon walks off, passing Booker. Quoth the Book,"Tell me, he didn't just say that!" Next match is inter-promotional Women's Championship between Melina and Trish. Trish pulls the W after Mickie James pulls Trish out of the way of s shoulderblock, followed up by a top rope, hair pull face buster. Next up, HHH vs Ric Flair, Last Man Standing. This match did not disappoint. The finish comes after HHH Pedigree's Flair not once, not twice, but three times, and THEN hits him with the sledge. Edge comes out with the lovely Lita (she walks on the ground I worship), and states that he is going to debut a new talk show called "The Cutting Edge". He starts by speaking with Dimitri Young, who was in the audience, and precedes to blast Detroit sports. Young comes back and lays into Edge, counting off the number of Championships that Detroit has had, asking Edge "Where's your World Title at?" Next up, WWE Title defense. John Cena against Kurt Angle, with Kurt's own referee, Daivari. The match, sadly, went more or less how I thought it would. Angle beats the snot out of Cena, Cena comes back, goes for the pin, and Daivari doesn't count. Cena starts smacking Daivari, who almost DQs Cena before Angle stops him. Daivari gets knocked out of the ring, and another ref comes down. Angle and Cena go back and forth for a few, and Angle purposefully knocks out the new ref. Wash, rinse repeat. A Smackdown ref comes down and, as he and Angle get into the ring, Cena DDTs Daivari, who was getting into the ring as well, and plays possum for Angle. Angle walks up, Cena delivers the F-U, and wins the match. Bischoff and Long is next. Fairly dull match, with the exception of the Boogyman interfereing to help Long get the win. Last match of the night is the Interpromotional, Classic Survivor Series Match. Shawn Michaels, Kane, The Big Show, Carlito and Chris Masters Team Raw) vs. Batista, Rey Mysterio, John Bradshaw Layfield, Randy Orton and Bobby Lashley (Team Smackdown) As this was a fairly long match, I'll only list the eliminations. Lashley is pinned by Michaels after getting Chokeslammed by Kane. Kane pinned by Batista after both a 619 from Rey and a Spine Buster. Batista pinned by Big Show after a Double Chokeslam by Show and Kane. Show pinned by Rey after a JBL Clothesline from Hell, a 619 from Mysterio, and RKO from Orton, another Clothesline from Hell, and a seated Senton from Rey. Carlito pinned by Rey after a Clothesline from Hell from JBL. Masters pinned by Rey after the 619/Dropping the Dime. Rey pinned by Michaels after a Sweet Chin Music counter to the West Coast Pop. JBL pinned by Michaels after the Sweet Chin Music. Michaels pinned by Orton after the RKO. Winner of the Match, Team Smackdown. After the match, the rest of Smackdown comes down to celebrate. They lift Orton onto their shoulders, when the Undertaker's music hits. The druid's bring a coffin out to the entrance way, and set it upright. Orton is in the ring, leaning against the ropes, freaking out. Suddenly, a Lightning bolt hits the coffin, which bursts into flames. Orton stares at it, his eyes almost wider then his head, and the 'Taker bursts out of the coffin. He makes his way down to the ring, where Orton is trying to hide amongst the other wrestlers, who promptly toss him to the 'Taker. 'Taker begins to lay waste to the entire ring, as Orton slips out. 'Taker stares at Orton as the show goes off.
Glad I didn't pay to see that! The only part that would have been fun to watch is the Undertaker's return, which they will probably show tonight on Raw and Friday on Smackdown.
I was pleasently surprised that they didn't do a wishy-washy ending to the Main Event, giving SmackDown the clear, clean victory. But then, having Undertaker destroy a good portion of the SmackDown roster sort of reversed that.
I can't believe VInce used the N---- word. Now every damn kid on the street will be shouting it (As if they didn't use it enough already). I always loved Orton's expressions of shock when the Undertaker shows up.
Tonight on Raw, HBK, Shawn Michaels takes on his partner from last night, Carlito. And Bischoff is having an "all-talent meeting in the middle of the ring". Great. We get to hear Bischoff going on and on about how none of the Raw stars came out to help him last night. Is anyone else tired of listening to Bischoff?
I think it sucks that Survivor Series had only one survivor match. The RAW vs. Smackdown was a great idea, but there could have been at least one survivor match for each brand.
I have to admit, I would prefer if they went back to the old school SS matches, where they don't have title defenses. Just good ol four or five man elimination matches. And did you see that STF from Cena tonight? OMG!
I usually hit RAW since I work when Smackdown is on. I get more of a kick outa RAW than Smackdown these days... mostly since my faves are all on RAW. John Cena (guy has great mic skills and a competent wrestler), Kurt Angle (great wrestler and heel), WOOOO! Ric Flair WOOOOO!, Big Show (SHHHHSH! ka-CHOP!), Eugene (though he is susprended until futher notice. Something about a bar fight), Ashley (I votes for her), and Mick Foley (Carlito needs another dose of Socko). Smackdown had Batista (whom is gonna be in rehab for his shoulder injury until Royal Rumble... or later), Eddie (RIP), and just got Matt Hardy back (his return was nice and all but they really dropped the ball for him)
Ya know, its really refreshing to see a discussion of wrestlign without every other person saying how much Cena sucks, or how they can't wait for Cena to lose the title. Do you realize how old that gets?
I miss Ravishing Rick Rude. "What I want right now is for all you fat washed up sweathogs to keep the noise down while I show the ladies what a real man looks like. Hit the music!"
I like Cena so you won't hear it from me. Still... he does need to drop the belt for a while and let some other Wreslter have it. A well-though out feud (sorry but the craptacular feud with Chris Jerico seemed thrown together to keep Jerico from going on his leave) with Kane, Shawn Micheals, or finishing up the current Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble with Angle stealing the title would be nice.
