Meh, I'm 38 and have been divorced over 9 years now. I've dated a few times since then but haven't felt any closeness to anyone for a serious relationship. As for dating sites....I've had a lot of folks tell me good things about them, but for me it never ends well.

I seem to attract the crazies for some reason so have pretty much decided I'm gonna pry be single for the rest of my life.

3. mind control them to do that
4. get them drunk, because the drunker females get the more handsome i become

truth is im not picky. i would a fat 5 foot nothing, short hair women with a missing toe as long as she could appreciate me for me as i would do for her.

 

I'm 28. Single. I haven't had a lot of relationships. Mostly guys tell me I'm too cool to date. I tend to wait just a little too long to confess and we've gotten a bit too close as friends I guess... I also end up falling for any gay guy within 50 miles of me somehow.

Most of the time I like being single. I mean I'm free to do what I want and all that. I don't have someone potentially up my ass wanting to be with ALL the time...

But yeah. I do get lonely sometimes and would like to come home from a bad at work and have a nice tight hug from someone I care about. It would be nice to have someone to geek out over TF's with and buy TF's for.

Seriously though, I'm sort of the same way (in regards to being happy with being single but also getting lonely at times), except that I've never really had a problem with a girlfriend being with me all or most of the time. Well, within reason anyway, that is. Like, if they don't have remotely their own life & can't afford for me to take a piss on my own then we might have a problem, but as far as simply being a girlfriend/relationship guy who spends more than 2 days a week with em, I'm perfectly comfortable with that, if it makes any sense.

Heck, that's always seemed more natural than having to create contact or whatever because that way, you're constantly forced to have interesting shit to say when you don't, and its so much easier (for me anyway) to simply be in each other's spaces without needing to fake that we live for more than each other & pretty much don't live the life of Clark Kent.

 

Oh I meant something like you're say. Obviously I would want to be around the person if I'm dating them. But seriously. Have a guys day/night. I'm gonna want time to spend with just my sister cause she and I are close.

I have things I do with certain people that I won't bring others into because that this is something between me and the people I do it with. It's special or tradition. Like my sis, my dad and I have been going to alice copper concerts since I was 8 together. That is something I will not pull someone else into. It's our thing for us.

Some healthy time apart is always good.

 

Totally. For example, I'd still like to go to my Yugioh tournaments & have some time online without needing to drag her along, and by the same token, I wouldn't wanna be tagging along with 100% of her shit either. Like, this isn't to say that I'd be opposed to compromise or whatever (especially when it comes to similar interest things), but like you say, time apart is a good thing because if all you are is that person's partner, then what's to like?.

Actually, I often joke with friends about the guys we know who aren't allowed to have lives (this one guy in particular we shit on all the time couse his gf is a controlling bitch that won't let him play cards or post on facebook without her being there), and I definitely don't wanna be on either side of one of those relationshits. I'd take #foreveralone over that in a sparkbeat.
