While I get where you guys are coming from-- I doubt I'll post in that type of thread either--- I can understand that a significant percentage of our fandom are still school age (tweens and up) and for them, the cold cruel world hasn't ripped out their hearts or made them jaded against the realities of the Christmas holiday season.... so I think letting them have the joy of posting their hauls while they can still get them (without having to work like a dog for them-most likely) is a good thing.... one day all too soon, they're going to be feeling the way a lot of folks feel about Christmas, the whole racket and the cold hearted business behind those 'gifts'. Bwhawha.

No. I meant in general. Hell, I don't even know what that is nor have I even heard of it. Wait, don't respond to this part of the comment. I don't think I want to know. And to clarify, I don't have a Tumblr account. Why do I get the feeling that I'm officially considered as one of the most hated members of this site by this point?

 

I apologize if I seem to go a bit off-topic a bit but to answer this particular question, it's bit of a case of my own self-esteem issues combined with minor bouts of paranoia as well as few arguments with a few people of this site here and there. Hell, I was honestly trying to mind my own business when I made the post yesterday in regarding the topic of this thread and somebody has to go and basically patronize me of being supposedly featured in some BS Tumblr account when it had nothing to do to what I just said. If he was just simply joking, it's not funny. Like at all. Seriously, what the hell did I ever do to him? I also get the feeling nobody of this site ever takes me seriously.

 

Morbid much man? I was laughing reading that even if it is true. 

I got a budget and I more or less stick to it. Might snag something for me toy wise or tool wise I can't justify the rest of the year, but that's about it. On a personal level this Christmas will be kind of meh for me and smaller for the kids due to a job change, but by next Christmas the money will be no object, but I still won't go stupid.


I think on one of the larger problems of Christmas now is that if you are buying someone a gift, whether it be family, your children, wife, etc buy something they can use or actually want. I see so much shit buying like, "who cares as long as they have something to open" just give them the damned money 

 

I'm too tired to go out and buy some stuff that we need. I don't know why I'm so groggy. I think the years are catching up to me....

 

On the flip side... "Campers" waiting for your spot, but don't leave enough room for you to back out.

 

Never having a very good thing to say to people until it's too late (in general, mind you).

 

The SD card in my 3DSXL finally corrupted, taking with it several half-finished drawings in Pokemon Art Academy.
Oh well.

 

There was an odd situation yesterday as the large 12 passenger van I was in was backing out a car tried to go past us by coming straight towards us almost got right up to the right front tire it was crazy.

 

  She said most of that 'tongue in cheek'.... not sooooo seriously. A little jaded, but also realistic.

I'm one of those that's most happy with gift cards, for both my bday (which really is Christmas day) and Xmas. Let me get what I want in Jan or Feb when prices are slashed and the same amount someone would have spent in Nov/Dec goes twice or 3X further. Win for me....and for them too.  

My man and I were talking about the 'crap gift' buying this weekend, walking around the mall looking at all those kiosk's that have such stupid, 'impulse' items that folks seem to flock to and buy just so they can cross another name off their list. I always feel sorry for the recipients.... PLEASE do them a real favor and just give them money instead of crap gifts.

lol I hear ya! I have 7 nephews and nieces from 26 to 6(another one due damn near xmas actually) and for years now if I haven't known specific items it was automatic cash. Cheapest box of cash card holders I can find and I'm all set. We only get stuff for the kids and then rest is our actual families(too much otherwise).

Rapid hair growth.

I just cut my hair on Saturday and my sideburns are already coming back in. I can't even keep up with it anymore.
