Now as the title suggests, what sort of inapproptiate or otherwise unintensionally offensive comments can we recall making, hearing, or narrowly avoiding?

For example, I stopped over at a postal depot today on my way home from a yugioh tournament to send out some toys, figuring that even though it was Sunday, that it'd at least get the stuff 1st in line come Monday. When I got there, I started talking with the girl at the counter about random shit, some of which got into the subject of scales, how my kitchen scale isn't too accurate, how she doesn't have a scale of any kind... and me almost replying with something along the lines of "really, but isn't that your department?".

Actually now that I think about it, I probably should've said it.

 

No accidental comments but i made one of my mates puch himself in the face the other day.....

 

Well i had him in a headlock cause he made some ******ed joke about tf fans and he started punching my arm to try to make me let go then another of my mates tried to get me in a headlock at the same time cause hes a dick which caused me to move my arm a bit on the one i had a headlock on who ended in him punching himself  

 

On here, I commented a couple years ago how it seemed that a bunch of UK residents kept talking trash to me, and I was called a racist. Though the people who said stuff about what I had posted, had only been from the UK. Other than that I try and watch what I say, I never say any racist slurs, but I do kind of offend people other ways. Like not realizing it until it was too late, I edited a pic of my Valiant so I could change the colors, I blurted out, "Haha, looks like a blood covered maxipad" while my sister was right next to me(I made it two toned, white on bottom, red on top).

 

I made a racist joke unintentionally the other day at school, the guy walking past our group didn't look happy... Sorry dude. And don't ask what's the joke, racisim on this forum usually don't end well...

 

Well, this one didn't come from me, but it was funny nonetheless and worth sharing.

My cousin and her husband are expecting their first child in about 6 months and she only now has just begun showing her baby bump. And when I say just begun, I mean just this past month. My cousin is rather skinny, though she has a bit of pudginess in the face and a tiny bit around the midsection. Certainly not pregnancy big, though.

Which leads to this...

They told their landlord the month before last, that they are "with child" so they'll be needing a larger apartment and the landlord said "I thought so! You were runnin' a bit bigger than usual, ya know? Congratulations anyway."

Ouch. XD

 

I was fiddling with some paper towels at work and to my surprise it turned into a rose. I decided to be nice and give some to my lady co- workers. I decided to distribute them to every female co-worker. My intention was to be nice but inside I was wondering if there were ladies out there who would be slightly offended by it. It took me awhile but I did go through every lady I could find at work. Even the ones who don't know me or are new. Out of all of them two looked like I rubbed them off in a wrong way and the rest were happy and I made their day. I still do this once in awhile especially when there are new ladies around. To this day, only those two ladies took offense. I gave one to one of the big wigs from head office and told me that we're now officially married. I don't know how or why but looks like I scared off those two ladies .

 

a co-worker lost her mother with who she was very close. i ran into her outside of work shorty after her mother died and she said to me that i "look funny in tshirts" because she only ever sees me in a dress shirt and tie. i respond "your mom looks funny in tshirts". i realized what i said just as i said it and felt really bad, thankfuly she understood because she knows im always like "your mom this" and "your mom that"

I had one classic moment in high school. I left a discarded chocolate wrapper on my desk, and my math teacher scolded me to put it in the trash immediately. I responded with the douchebaggy line, "But if I do that, I'll be putting the janitors out of work." Her reaction was priceless. XD

 

I've had so many moments where I just feel look crawling under a rock. Sometimes my mouth gets ahead of my brain and I just start shooting out this dribble that is just asinine. I can't think of any one specific instance worth mentioning, though. Except for that one incidental comment about Asians...

 

Telling a kid in front of his huge mom not to each so much bullshit or you'll grow up and be fat. Did'nt want him to have a heart attack before he was 50.

The mom took it personal of course. Never toy with a big woman's guilty conscious.

 

I'm always offensive entirely on purpose.

One of my girlfriends was dressed up for a play, (I think she was Hippolyta, whatever.) and instead of saying, "Who's the lucky guy that gets to marry you." My mouth derped out and I said "Who wants to marry you?"

In front of my whole class. Pulled her aside after and apologized.

 

Oh wow. That must have been terribly embarassing for the both of you. Just, sometimes, your brain and your mouth don't like to get along. XD

 

Most of mine are racial comments. It's normal at work and between some of my friends. Strangers listening in sometimes get offended.

 

I was working in a warehouse a lot of years ago, and my buddy/co-worker asked me to go and get something for him, so I said "Get it yourself. What do I look like, a cripple?"......
and yeah, you guessed it.... a dude in a wheelchair had just wheeled in and was right behind me.

I still feel like a re-re every time I think of that. An eskimo albino lesbian midget ambidextrous re-re.

I am sure i have been a perpetrator before but one story involving my best friend springs to my mind. My family had congregated at a place in Glasgow called Xscape for a bit of laser quest to celebrate my young nephews birthday. My best friend, who happens to actually be my step nephew, is a large guy weighing in at 18 stone of muscle. My mum, unwittingly utters 'Marc you're the biggest here , you'll have to have a handicap. My mum can be a daft person sometimes because low and behold Marc starts to make noises and mimmicks someone with a gimpy leg (handicap?) just as a group of down syndrome children appear at the top of the stairs behind him.

He hung his head in shame while i cried into my jacket

Also i definitely do not condone poking fun at anyone with a disability, physical, mental or otherwise.
