If they're harassing you to give up something important to you that's otherwise harmless (ie not drugs), do they?

 

What happened this time? Why do I have the feeling that whatever I have to deal with will pail in comparison in this instance?

I'm having trouble with an ebay item right now. I had it refund so I could repurchase it with a new address. But when I got the invoice they charged me double the price. I'm trying to get a replay from them, but they have not replied back.

 

Hey, this is a rant thread. Leave the guy alone. If he wanted us to have more detail, he would have provided them.

 

Last week a particular class I'm taking had an issue where the drop box where I'm supposed to submit my homework said it wasn't accepting submissions at this time, when it was supposed to. I e-mailed my instructor and he took care of it, acknowledging that it was indeed a problem.
This week it's doing it again. I worked all f**king weekend on this assignment and it's due today but I can't submit. I e-mailed my instructor again about it, but no timely response this time and no resolution has come. There's still the rest of the day that this might turn out okay, but right now I'm kinda feeling the frustrations.

Also, last August my spicket busted and flooded my downstairs basement, which is finished and carpeted. So it being flooded was a problem. My wife called my home insurance and she was told they would send a code blue emergency service to dry the carpet out for us and that this was a free service. But starting last November I started getting letters from the company that did the water mitigation asking for the $700 it cost to dry my basement out. So, I don't know if my wife misunderstood that the insurance would pay for this, and we actually are responsible for paying for it, or if the insurance just fumbled the ball or what's going on - but I've called EVERY WEEK since November, calling my insurance representative and leaving messages (because he NEVER answers) wanting to know what's up. He claims on his outgoing messages that he calls back in one business day but that's obviously a load of bull$hit. Am I paying for it or are they? That's all I want to know. I'd rather not, I have other stuff to pay for as it is, but that's not what I'm getting at here. These are my insurance people that I pay for on a monthly basis as a service and they're practically ignoring me! I'm really bad about being aggressive about stuff, I'm very passive and hate confrontation, but today I finally left a message in my pissed off voice saying that I've been calling for months, he claims he calls back in a day but he hasn't, and if he doesn't call back I'll find a different home insurance. I HOPE that makes a difference, but part of me thinks that after months of no call back that he'll not even hear that threat in my message I left him because he won't have listened to it or will have started listening and hear that it's me again and stop listening before getting to the part where I leave that threat. I'm making assumptions about the guy here but after being ignored so long I can't help it.

 

Can you just email the homework to the teacher? It would at least have a date stamp showing you had it done on time.

 

That sucks about your basement being flooded then dealing with your home insurance agent. From what you said, it is definitely time to find a new home insurance agent particularly if they repeatedly do not return phone calls (poor customer service).

 

And bam - after months of calling this dude wanting a call back and not getting one, my call threatening to find a different insurance if I didn't get a call back got me one in 20 minutes time. They are paying for the mitigation, not me, there was some sort of confusion.
I need to learn to be more aggressive more often I guess.

 

My schools credits are transferable almost nowhere and it's only "regionally accredited" but a school 2 hours away won't accept it's credits. Fucking beautiful.

 

Got a $60 Amazon gift card from my sister for my birthday, and am so exited I immediately order $59.68 worth of stuff...

...and forgot to apply the card.

D'OH!

And then, my attempts to edit the payment options result in me being charged twice for one part of the order (once debit card, once gift card). D'OH!

Yeah, I'll be calling Amazon tomorrow...on my birthday.

 

We got dismissed from school early today for conditions that cleared like ten minutes later. Sucks because this week is my eterm which means I get to take special classes, and I singed up to take a game design class which got cut by an hour, and a radio broadcasting class that was completely cancelled by the dismissal. So now I only get three days for the second one since there was no school on Monday.

 

Got stoned off my ass and took a bad fall down a flight of stairs. Been laid up for 4 days now. No fun.

 

Literally every college in my area already has announced early cancellations of afternoon/evening classes...


...except mine.

EDIT: Oh, sure, they cancel the sports programs for tonight, but not classes occurring at times AFTER those sports programs even started. And this place is supposed to get more snow than any of the colleges that are already closing. What. The. Hell?

 

had 3 dreams that I asked myself WTF?
1: dreamt that the old abandoned Catholic School was replaced by a strip mall, with a pizzeria and a comic book store, and when my friend and I where checking it out, he received a text from his most recent ex asking if we could pick her up and take her to Delaware for a job interview (not sure if we where going to go to her old place in Hamilton or her current Burlington residence that my friend lived in with her when they where still a item but he moved out after they broke up) and as we heading to my car, some jackass drove of in it (in the dream I had my keys, and my car can't be hot wired or have a random Malibu key start it) and I had work that day
2: A girl I had a crush on in High School (who may or may not have been playing a long game on my emotions, knowing I developed a thing for her at some point in High School, according to my friend that is……….I still haven't gotten confirmation on that one way or the other, and since she's married with kids now I don't care, I think…….guess we'll know for sure the day she ever set's foot into Walmart when I'm working one of the doors, anyway) was visiting the house, gave me a couple or notes or letters, the details have sort of waned since I woke up, and the dream transitioned to
3) I going to a fictional amusement park, where I had to fill out a form and when I reached into my pocket for my wallet the letters where still there……..then my alarm went off……

What the Hell did I eat to get those dreams? (obviously, my sub conscience tends to go back to my High School Days, either with me back in school or the setting/ people people I knew. Could there be triggers, like seeing other former classmates or some lingering gnawing conflicts in my mind?) These are some of the things that make me wonder where my life is going some times? Is my mind trying to tell me I need a change in my routine once in a while, though I'm too introverted to enjoy the bar scene/ strip club scene (since I'm in my 30's, clubs are too……...young for me, since the women there would be at best barely legal, at worst jailbait)

Jeez, got a little introspective huh!

 

Searching the past... I see now that I sometimes blamed others because I was unhappy or found myself in some type of crisis. Wish I could have been better.

Edit. Seems like the turning point was 1999-2000. I had a lot of things going my way, but couldn't capitalize. I started getting too stressed out and it all fell apart.  

 

Pretty pissed off about all the historical tomes, relics and monuments which are being systematically destroyed in Iraq right now. That's human history that is lost forever, and for what? Why did we - all of the world's people - let it come to this point?

And what is yet to come?

 

Problem is, we've probably been doing awful stuff like this since the burning of the library of alexandria. I'd cite earlier examples, but records of them were probably lost during the burning of the library of alexandria.

 

I just read a report saying they 'bulldozed' an ancient Assyrian archaeological site near Mosul. It's tragic how so many important artifacts are being destroyed like that and UNESCO has condemned it as a "war crime".
