Its a shame ebay doesn't advertise this condition, as I am sure most buyers are ignorant of it. |

I hate buyers who ask where their item is after 2 fucking days. I hate buyers who don't leave a feedback after getting great service. I hate buyers who buy things without reading the terms or description. I hate buyers who want to pay $20 shipped for an item because it is $20 at the store. I hate buyers that complain about shipping and handling rates. Blog - Feedback - Collection Showcase on TFW |

Set some rules for yourself to prevent problems (I don't sell to anyone with less than 50 positive feedbacks, and I don't buy from anyone with less than 99% positive) and it works great. The only two times I've been ripped off were both from Quebec, so now I won't ship to or buy from there anymore. No big complaints, otherwise. | I doubt i could buy from you anytime soon, ams, but i respect that rule.
I use Ebay infrequently as a last resort to snag some obscure stuff- like i just got a CD from 1992 in the mail today. Or Harlan Ellison paperbacks.
I made a noob mistake once of buying an item and then transferring money from my bank to the PayPal account.
it created a hassle, waiting 4 days for it to process. i don't ever do that anymore.
I have been lucky and haven't been burned by price gouging or bad service, knock on wood. Quote: |

I've had to walk them through the entire process, tell them how to set up Paypal, how to complete payment... I just can't afford the time to teach people how to use eBay while I'm trying to have a transaction with them. Quote: |

ams: Dude, you own three different unlicensed City Commander toys and a half dozen fake third-party Prime trailers. WTH? | |

And that's why I haven't dealt with eBay except for as a last, LAST resort. Something about holding an entire monopoly on the chain from top to bottom and being all but forced to use it makes me nervy. Quote: |

Here's a shipping breakdown: A 1lb - 1lb 15oz package sent coast to coast via Priority: ~$10, tracked (required by Paypal)
Same weight as above via Parcel Post $9, tracked
Insurance: $1.75
Handling: Usually $1 - $3 (as it's always typically been) Also, international shipping has continued to increase along with domestic shipping. | This is the thing, coast to coast I can understand being $10. But for an item less then 1lbs. shipping from NJ to PA (that's one state away for those of you that might not know) shouldn't cost that much.
And for international shipping, the S&H for the Megazord I was hunting down was listed exactly the same for sellers within the states (on my coast, no less) as it was for a seller in Singapore (who I decided to buy from). You want to tell me that the post offices in Asia are just more agreable then ours? Despite the fact that the two have to work in tandem?
For product descriptions here's a good example. I bought one figure loose last year and it came with peeling stickers but was otherwise in good shape. This year I bought a similar loose figure and peices were coming off and paint was heavily chipped with stickers being ripped into peices. Both products had the same 'You see what you get' description with poor pictures. Granted it is my own fault for not assuming the worst, but lets not even gets started at how sellers will rake you across the coals for a NIB. I wouldn't buy from sellers who don't do their research first or list details about the item, but none of them do, including the ones who should know better.
Anyways as far as sellers not receiving their money, I can see that. To be honest I never bought something from a seller who shipped it before I paid them, but I usually pay right away. At least I do so on my end. I'm not sure how long Pay Pal takes to process payments but I do know the money is taken out of my account immediately.
Nowadays feedback seems to be another thing. I always used to get immediate positive feedback for my quick payments. This month I purchased four items and got one feedback. I wondered if they were waiting for me to leave feedback first but even after I did they posted nothing for me. So much for the old 'you pat my back and I'll pat yours' mentality. |
