Has a thunderstorm actually scared you?

I mean after the age of 10. Last night there was a thunderstorm so loud and bright that it woke me up and I had a hard time going back to sleep. My dog was freaking out as usual and my sister ran to my parents room but it surprised me how scared I got. It sounded like heavy ceramic stuff breaking in the sky it was so loud. And very strange sounding for thunder. Oh and he lightening was quite long when it flashed and was extremely bright.

ANYWAYS I am prepared for any "cool story bro" comments but have you ever gotten scared by a thunderstorm after you understood them and were old enough to not be afraid?

Thunderstorms still scare me. I currently live in San Antonio, TX and between 1:00am and 3:00am, I heard thunder and when I opened my door and saw flashes and streaks of lightning, I quickly came back in. After all that, it rained lightly for only about 10 or 15 minutes.

Cool story bro, but for real now. It really didn't scare me, I just worried about my Valiant being crushed, like a month ago I was by the dining room window and a lightning bolt sounded like it hit the ground and it lit the room up like if we were outside. So I jumped around in my seat to see if it did hit/caused any damage, thankfully it didn't. Also yay another central Jersey-ian

No way, I love them. The sheer power is boner-inducing.

^this

Also, one time I almost got hit by lightning. From where I stood, the bolt looked like it was about 3-feet-wide. It was the fucking loudest thing I ever heard in my whole life. When it struck, me and my friends instantaneously jumped and ran the fuck away. It left my ears ringing for about a minute. This happened when I was about 12.

On another note, I remember in the 90s my city used to experience really awesome thunder-rain storms. The rain would fall heavily for about 2 hours, accompanied by constant lightning and thunder. After the 90s, there have not been such awesome storms in my city. I miss them.
