All you smokers out there.... Electronic Cigarettes?

How are we rude? I'm a smoker and am only rude to those who give me a hard time. All this criticism towards smokers should end; it's our choice. I know it's a bad habit and all but I'm just not ready to quit. I just started about a year ago; I'll quit when I want to.

By the way, I've heard of electronic cigarettes but I don't want to try them. They probably don't have that great taste like most full-flavor cigarettes do. I'm a Camel guy and only smoke Marlboro or other brands rarely.

Next time some dickhead does that to you again, you should take a long drag off your cigarette and exhale a huge cloud of smoke in their face. I'm on your side, dude. I'm sick of all the disrespect we smokers get.

As long as people smoke away from store entrances or any other public entrance I have no problems with them.

I love smokers, if only to spite anti-smokers, who are more whiny than fanboys.

....electronic cigarettes? Wow. That's actually a great idea, especially with all of the pluses. The smoker gets their fix, the non smoker doesn't have to duck and cover, or bitch and moan.

I'm not a smoker, but my Dad is, and he doesn't go out of his way to make people around him uncomfortable, yet people have bitched at him for being a smoker in a wheelchair, due to the damage he's doing to his lungs. (WTF? Back off people...)

I know some smokers can be rude, but I too believe non smokers are far more rude in the matter. We have designated smoking areas now, and even when smokers use them, it's not enough to let them smoke in peace. No, people have to continually vilify them and squeeze 'em out.

It's absolutely ridiculous that smokers aren't allowed to puff in a bar anymore. Hell, some of those dives aren't even safe to be in as is, so what's a cigarette gonna do?

Pick your battles folks, some of 'em just aren't worth the trouble.

I just hate that a lot of anti-smokers are pushing to have cigarettes totally banned. Like I said, most smokers have no problem stepping outside to smoke. All we really ask for is not to be hated for smoking. I don't know if you drink, but how would you like someone to call you a lousy drunk everytime you had wine with dinner? It's a personal choice and it's not harming anyone, especially in an open environment. I also fully believe it should be up to a restaurant or bar owner to allow or abolish smoking in their own establishments. If you don't want to go eat at a place that allows smokers, then you can go somewhere else. Just like if I oppose drinking, no one is forcing me to go into a bar. I just hate when lobbyist and the government tell a business owner how to run their establishment.

Actually, I saw the same guy spit on the ground 3 times while walking into the store and I called him out on that as being more of a health hazard than me smoking out in the open. He tried to start something with me because I use a wheelchair when I have to walk long distances since I'm still recovering from my knee surgery. I just stood up all 6'3 200lbs. and asked him if he'd like a go. He just went quietly after that. =)

I think you are biased because you are a smoker. I don't have a problem when people choose to smoke, it's when I have to smell it that I have a problem. I choose not to smoke therefore I shouldn't have to smell it. It's the most noxious and lingering smell there is. I see boards where people compare it to truck exhaust or other things, but those smells are gone once they're passed, cigarette smoke lingers. I say that smokers are rude because they usually have zero regard for other people who have to breathe the same air that they do.

Same thing, it's not that you are a smoker that is the problem, I could care less. I just don't want to smell it, yet someone driving down the road decides to light up, thinking that the smoke will dissapate, as it's blowing in my face driving one, two, or four cars behind him. It's noxious and persistant. I can go home and smell it on my hours later while taking a shower. Disgusting.
