Bud Shootout is this weekend? crap I need to get the schedule lol but im pulling for Johnoson or any of the other Hendrick drivers OR someone else that has bad luck all the time like Brian Vickers or AJ Allmendinger and I want yle bush to finish back in the 40's or 30's all season then ill be happy
Just got the bill yesterday for my Dover tickets that started the Nascar fever for the year. I just read that Bill Davis just sold his points to the Penske 77 I don't usally care about this kind of thing but this really bugs me. For one I think a driver should earn a spot in the top 35 and you should not be able to buy your way in, Second I don't think this is fair to the other teams that are have hard times finding sponsers. Nascar made the COT car to try even out the competition and they allow this, just makes me wonder what they are thinking.
Dover tickets? never realized you were in MD lol I try and go to the vendors every year but for the past 2 years I havnt because well TFs take all my money anymore and im broke otherwise lol but I used to always be able to get awesome deals on cars I got the 1:18 24 Hour Johnson car for 20 bucks a few years back and the Johnson 1:24 Brickyard raced win car for 20 bucks too lol and personally I dont like the COT or the top 35 crap specially on rain outs they really need to fix the problems with that cause drivers that deserve to be in the race never make it cause of rain outs OR they could always start using those rain tires
hell yea but it likley wont happen at a track like Daytona or somethin like that for safety reasons thats why I only see that happending at a track like Martinsville or Infineon and quick question who here hates New Hampshire Speedway? personally I hate those races as there boring as hell
The problem with rain tires is that they need to be such a soft tire to grip the track that the right sides would blow out every ten laps or so. Essentially, rain races would look like the Indianapolis race did this year. They use them in road courses because the cars aren't putting the same forces on the outside tires during a turn. Before anyone brings up F-1, those cars run on lighter frames with much more downforce. An F-1 car, heck even an IRL or A-1 car, could drive through a corkscrew at 90 mph without leaving the track. NHIS isn't nearly as bad as it used to be before the corners were redone. You used to see better racing on I-95 on the way to the track. If I could drop one track from the circuit, I'd replace one of the Martinsville race dates for an open date. It could be filled with an Iowa or Kentucky race date. Heck, in a better economy, wouldn't it be great to see a NASCAR race at Monaco? Martinsville dates won't be dropped though since it's a France family track. (I know, I know, ISC, NASCAR, and the France family's holdings are totally seperate entities. )
I used to be a big fan of Rusty Wallace until he retired. I've pretty much lost interest in Nascar since then. I do like to hear when Denny Hamlin is doing well though.
just a reminder to everyone Bud Shootout is on tonight at 8 on FOX cant wait to see em hit the track again and its time to start this GO JOHNOSON FOR 4!!!
good finish kinda sucks Johnson wrecked but ah well we ran well and its not a points race itll all matter come next Sunday
interesting race. this daytona 500 is gonna have an ass load of wrecks, these cars can't go but about 15 laps without getting loose as hell and needing new tires, gonna be a wreck fest.
well Truex is on the Pole Mark Matrin starting 2nd hopefully he doesnt mess up his car during the Duels
Woo hooo! Outside pole! Go Mark Martin! (Good run by Bill Elliot though. Thought he was going to knock him off the front row.)
anyone notice how badly Harvick qualified? 49th which is pretty sad considering he won the Shootout last night lol
Yes Kevin Harvick did catch my eye and yes he did win the shootout but his car just did not handle well. He was just in the right place at the right time to win that. As stated earlier this 500 is going to be a wreakfest the shootout start with 28 cars and I heard only 13 finished without any major damage. Labonte got taken out by Jr. and Jr. by Menard so I am just hoping that Labonte can make it to the end of the 500.
Looking like the tires are taking a beating at Daytona. 12 laps and then the handling goes away. You definately want to be in front or near it at the end of long runs because these guys are getting awfully loose at the end of runs. Could be a lot of bent sheet metal in this one.
Truex won the pole, so does that mean it's smart to pick him off the waiver for my fantasy team just for Daytona?
