My wife and I are thinking of sponsoring some military soldiers that dont have a place to go eat and we dont know who to contact. Anyone know of where to call or go?

Hey! Someone did that for me when I was in the military! Unfortunately, that was about 11 years ago so I have no idea if they even told me how they set it up. If I were you, I would look up your local recruiting station for any given branch in your area, which should be easy to look up online or in the phonebook. They could probably point you in the right direction.

Sounds like good advice to me.

Also I just asked my co-worker who was in the military. First off he said that what you plan to do is "awesome" he said to contact the USO and they would guide you in the right direction.

Damn that's awesome man. Definitely contact your local recruiter or the USO if there's a listing and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you out.

You could try to ask at your local VFW post, Legion Post or National Guard Armory.

Just wanted to update, we did get ahold of the proper people, we were approved and we are to go to the base on thanksgiving morning, between 7-8, see what basic trainees are available and pick them up for the day. With all the movies, games we have Im sure they will have a good time. Plus we have a huge TV for football. Ill take pics to show later.

My family used to do this when I was growing up in San Diego.

It was great until the one year where the two guys decided to get drunk and one was crying and the other was coming on to an underage family friend.
