2008 National Football League Thread

Training camps have opened, the first preseason game is this weekend (!), and we're all hoping for no injuries.

Let's talk some football! How's your team looking after the offseason and draft?

As long my team is own by York it will continue to suck regardless of who's on it. Apparently the Yorks are gonna turn the team over to their son eventually. Oh joy.

Go steelers. Not a bad draft. Should win division again.

Go Pats. If you've looked at their schedule this season, it's a pretty much no brainer that they're going 19-0 again.

Well, let's see... we let go of Mike Bell, Rod Smith retired and John Lynch just up and cut ties with the Broncos a few hours ago.

Yeah, we're off to a rocking start.

Yes, just like last season.

I like where Denver is going. Lynch has lost a step, and although he's great in run support, he wasn't going to be much of a pass defender. Mike Bell hardly played RB last year, and Ryan Torain looks pretty good in camp so far.

My biggest concern is Brandon Marshall. If he gets suspended, even for 2 or 4 games, that will be a big hit to the offense. Eddie Royal has opened eyes in camps and might wind up playing some slot to get his speed on the field.

And Jay Cutler is healthy ... no more undiagnosed diabetes. He was still in the top 12 rated QB's last season, and that was with his fatigue and weight loss of 30 lbs because of the disease ... so I'm expecting good things from him this season.
