Packers get the QB they've wanted and they prevent a very lethal weapon from going to another team.

Personally, I still hope he gets traded. He'd be more valuable to another team to help carry a team until their rookie QB is ready, much like Bledsoe and Dallas.
They said tonight they will make it an open competition between the two for the starter spot, but like you said could be just to keep him quiet. That would be a good role for him on another team, as long as they stick to no trades with NFC North rivals. Would be weird seeing him play for the Bears, Vikes, or Lions.

Thanks to BP for the great sig

Good point, I agree he should get a trade, I understand they don't wanna let him go to a div opponesnt, but still.

Broncos get 1st in the west this year. Cutler is in his 3rd year now and if Marshall can focus (big if but he has huge talent) that's going to be a huge 1-2 punch for years to come. Shannahan has NE figured out and if he can finally get a handle on Peyton look out for Denver in the AFC this year.

and on the whole Farve thing, either start him or let him go. He gave GB a superbowl, SF got rid of Montana to promote Young, if GB doesn't think he's good enough then cut him loose.

What are they afraid of? that he'll show them up and make them look like a bunch of goofs? In that case just give the man the ball then.

Looks like Favre will report to camp and have a open competition for the QB. I hope Packs are serious about letting him compete for a job and not simply to tide him over with a empty promise. If Favre does win the starting job I hope Rodgers can take it in stride because I don't believe he's better than Favre right now...and may never be.

Looks like another losing season for my team. YAY, NINERS! *Wonders why he paid for Sunday Ticket again this year.*

I dont see why the pats can't go 19-0 this year, but I can see that a sore subject to some people. With the schedule they have this season, I'd be very surprised if they lose a game. But stranger things have happened.

It's been so long since Chicago has had a good QB, I doubt they would know how to use him.

Play Urban Dead and they could be behind you too...
