The incindent lasted 45 minutes (Daymn?) and happened in a beach of Marion Island, a subantartic island, home of both penguins and seals.

The scientists still don’t know the reason why the seal wanted to mate with the penguin (He was, hmm, horny?) they speculate that it may be the seal’s inexperience, being still too young.

It could also be some sort of agressive act, even a playful one which ended sexual in manner.

“We thought that the seal was trying to kill the penguin” Says Nico de Bruyn, From the Mammal Investigation Institue in the Pretoria University, South Africa.

It seemed, as the scientists put it, that the penguin flapped it’s wings trying to retain balance, the seal jumped on top of the penguin, giving pelvic thrusts and tried to penetrate it without success.

After 45 minutes of failed trys, the seal gave up and got away swiming.

Wow.
