Some of my favorite matches from UFC 82
Sakara vs Leben - Leben went nuts in this one, awesome fight, nuff said.
Koscheck vs Hazelett - Good finish for Koscheck, kinda felt sorry for him when he lost to GSP in August.
All I have to say Anderson Silva rocks first round got me worried but I had a feeling it was just a feeling out process for him in the first round, yet Henderson was throwing down some hammer punches to his head and thought damn could Silva really loose this one?
Second round Silva came out juking, jiving, playing the striking game almost like he was playing possum in the first round. Ended it with a rear naked choke man was I happy that Silva retained his title.
Makes me wonder.... who's next? Junkion Exchange Feedback Cybertron.ca BST Feedback |

seems like Rampage is the only Pride fighter that moved to the UFC that is actually winning.... |

Penn is the next fighter from the 808 state to fight Sherk in May, I hoping Penn comes out on top. Junkion Exchange Feedback Cybertron.ca BST Feedback |

Personally I kind of think that type of thinking can get pretty messy. Anderson Silva..was he a Pride fighter? He's had more fights in other organizations. Hendo was in the UFC before he was in Pride. Same with Wanderlei Silva. What classifies a fighter to an organization?
Some "Pride" fighters will make it, some won't. Fighters no matter the organization will go through runs of wins and losses.
I saw a Boxing commercial and it said "It's a fight to the finish" Thats a good place to end.

The last match on television; the New Jersey Tigers beat the New York Clash. The best fight was between the women, Rookie Maimunah Holland-querido (Tigers) and Undefeated Jennifer Santiago. Maimunah proved her worth and knocked Santiago off her throne. I have a feeling Maimunah will be a fighter to watch out for in the future. Steen vs Bunda |

The women know how to throwdown in the ring fo sho. Alphie you should also check out Bodog Fight they also have a womens division that rocks as well. Seems like the majority of the old Pride guys lose when coming to the UFC. I think maybe it's a mistake to drop these Pride guys into high profile fights as soon as they come in. Fighting in a ring is completely different then fighting in a cage.
And Brock Lesnar. I think they've misused him in his first match and they may be misusing him in is second match as well. I really would rather him fight a mid-level fighter then people near the top. Lets face it, he only has two MMA fights under his belt. Can't we give him just a little experience before matching him up against former chamions?
I love what EliteXC is doing with Kimbo Slice. This is how you bring someone into the sport. This guy is a beast. I am really looking forward to his future fights. www.vapeAtron.com - A new e-smokers forum, join us today! www.TrionStudios.com - Check it out! |

Don't get me wrong, Coleman was the man back in the day, but his days on top are very over.
On the topic of 82, yeah, Silva is insane now. He seems completely unbeatable at 185. Sick victory over Hendo (who I think probably shouldn't fight at 185, he seems to stuggle with every fight he has at a lower weight). |
