iPod Touch

I've been thinking about upgrading my Generation 2 iPod and have been getting more interested in the iPod Touch.

Anyone have one? What are the ups and downs of one?

My main concern is scratching up the face of the thing.

I'd like the 18GB one right now but is it worth waiting for a bigger one? The one I have now is 20GB but I barely used half the space.

Granted my G2 iPod can't handle videos but is it really worth it spending an extra $100 for an 18GB iPod Touch?

I do like the instant iTunes capabilities but don't I have to back up the songs I buy on iTunes on a computer anyways? Or does iTunes plan on providing an online database for its users where it's possible to back up the songs online instead of it being on a hard drive?

I think they only come in 8GB and 16GB

I'm probably gonna get one for Christmas. I think there are some screen protectors that still let you access the screen. If you want lots of movies on it, I think you'd want the 16GB. The Nano can now play videos, 4GB and video for under $200, but just 4GB might get filled quickly

BTW, it's iPod Touch not iTouch

I got one and love the thing. If you search youtube you can find videos of a guy bringing a knife to his screen and it still comes out without a scratch. The back on the other hand will start looking scratched up pretty easy. It gets kinda fingerprinty(if thats even a word) but you can just wipe them off with the cloth that comes with it.

Yeah, I plan on getting one of those clear hard cases to protect the sides and the back and then put those clear film protectors for the front face.

Yeah I just watched that and cringed when he used all those objects.

I find it a little ironic that the front is so scratch resistant and yet the back isn't even though it's metal and the front is plastic.

I so want one of those. Only, I know damn well I'd rarely use it. But it's sooooo beautiful!

I have the 8gb model and I love it! the screen a very nice and the touch controls are smooth and easy to navigate. I have both TF movies on it and it looks beautiful. the only thing that bugs me is that you can't add notes in the calendar and it's a fingerprint magnet.

Is there a place to hook a cleaning cloth onto like on the DS or something?

what do you mean "hook a cleaning cloth"? the Touch does come with a cleaning cloth but theres no "slot" on the device to put it in.. nor does the DS unless you keep it in the DS when you have it closed..
