I'm still trying out on how to get one, or see what I can do to "find" one legally. I love my current Nano, but I'd like something that could play videos too.

My main qualms:
-Only one button. The iPhone has two volume keys on the side, and it's severe fail that the Touch lacks them. Volume and play/pause are two things that should always, always be available in a tactile form, even on a touch-based device. That way you can control them blind, in your pocket.

The iPhone comes with a headset that allows you to play/pause the iPod function, so even when it's in your pocket, you can play/pause with ease.

I mean the Touch has no tactile volume keys.

The iPhone has two on the side of the unit, and it seems two MORE on the headset, hehe.

Okay, so I just found out there's a -32- GB iPod Touch out now, for $500.

32 gigs of solid state = Vangelus is VERY interested

Rumor has it that the 8gig Touch will be phased out in April, with the 16 and 32 gig versions both coming down by a pricepoint. So I may go for a 32gig for $400, if it really does go down (and I have the gift certificates lined up

).

That could be very good news for me, as my brother allowed me to try out his 32GB iPod touch. I want to get one, but I don't want to pay $500! I've tried to get one on eBay (even a 16GB one) for a decent price in decent condition. Right now even "gently" used ones are in such high demand that people are insane in trying to get one. And I'm one of them!

I'd love to get myself one if for no other reason than using it during office break to watch videos and movies. I may wait til the price come down before I buy it.

Videos really just touch a fifth of what the handheld wonder can do. I feel the Touch is, in many regards, equal to the revolutionary aspects of the original Apple Newton. Both have advanced touch screen interfaces, and the Touch doesn't need a stylus! Both present a way to try to communicate with others. This time around though, the Touch is selling and affordable.
