R-Point is creepy atmospheric WWII ghost story.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head for some reason, heheheh
I want to watch Apartment soon, but I have no idea if it is any good. |

Join Date: Jun 2002 Posts: 11,348 Location: Better than yours News Credits: 10 | J-Horror is an awesomely broken genre that Japan managed to mangle through hardcore churning-out of films during the boom of American companies diving after properties like mad a few years ago, but there are some that I do really enjoy. For example...
Ju-on: The Grudge (First theatrical one, third one made)
One Missed Call (I love most of Miike's work, and this one is a great deadpan parody of the whole J-Horror genre)
I consider myself a Miike fanboy outside of the ones that most folks think were his only movies, but I also really liked Ichi The Killer and Audition. Though, I somewhat contend that Ichi was more of an Action film, and Audition was more of a Drama film.
And yeah, the Vengeance Trilogy is -excellent-, but I really wouldn't say they're horror.
Just remember the key phrase: "Tartan Asia Extreme" = "Tartan saw this omg kool azn movie and wants to release it"
Because my god, Cinderella was the most uninteresting horror film I've ever not seen, given how 80% of the footage was near pitch-darkness.
-----
Slightly OT, but in regards to hardcore churning-out of popular genres:
I believe that right now, stuff that resembles "Always" is what's coming out in quantity over quality.

All night long 2: atrocity- evil, sick movie. brutally violent and disgusting. im never going to watch this again. MPD psycho was a manga and a miniseries ou can find on dvd. directed by miike =D PM me if you have any weird/rare g1 bootlegs for trade or sale, i have some rare bootlegs for trade. |
