what cell phone service to get and why??

Ok right now im on t-mobile pre paid cuz im poor, but i just got a job so im planing on gettin a real phone service. Im gonna jump on my parents plan but they are about to switch from sprint to something else unknown at the time. My mom worked for sprint until it changed to embark so she lost half of her discount so she says she might as well get on another service. So which one should we get on because pre-paid sucks!! thanks for the help
