Why'd Your Parents Name You That?

My g/f asked me that question and that got me thinking...i'm gonna have to call my mom up and ask...

My Name: Jonathan

it has nothing to do with a variation of my parents name...nor was it any ancestor's name...i guess they wanted something "American"

Because it was my father's name.

And my father's father's name.

And my great grandmother didn't want to name her child "Cecil."

At first I was going to be named, Carmen after my grandmother on my dad's side of the family. Family politics got in the way, so my mom decided to choose another name. This one, Kristen she found while reading a book with two sisters in it. That's it. Nothing special.

Eric....dont know why, never thought to ask.
Lonnie....my dads first name, a "version" of his dad's name

Most likely though, its because "Boy!" was too vague....although that was my name quite often when I was a child.

Because when my mom was pregnant with me, she was out somewhere and saw someone yelling at their kid, and amidst the shouting they said his name. She thought it was a good name.

I shit you not.

I was named after a street.

Anthony is not a bad name to be stuck with, though.

I was named Edward because it is the first name of both of my grandfathers.
