Windows Vista - Anyone taken the Plunge?

Just curious to see if anyone has gone out and bought Windows Vista yet?

Was in Future Shop today (the Canadian equivalent to Best Buy which owes it) and was very tempted to snag a copy. Only real reason I thought twice was I wasn't sure if it was safe to get yet. Mostly due to I wasn't a 100% sure it can still run all the programs and hardware on my current system smoothly. That and I'm still iffy on all the bugs and problems it has or probably has and has yet to be discovered and or fixed. Still tempted to go and pick it up soonish, picked up XP on release and I was very satisfied with the improvements from 98/2000, so hence why I ask to see if Vista makes the same jump or not.

Anyway anyone got this yet? If so what do you think?

Thoughts? Comments? Opinions?

I've been running it at work since the early betas. I have yet to upgrade any of my personal machines yet though.

Soundwave i work for Vista I actually like it a lot... and im not just saying that either lol. Its main problems right now is upgrading from previous OS and obvious third party compatability problems.

Will Vista come down in price? If so, when?

I don't want to swtich because I fear Direct X 10 might not run on my card, even though it's pretty up to date (Geforce 7800 GS OC). It probably can. I also hear of slow-down issues, compatability problems and bugs. I don't want to buy an OS only to find A) It erases all my old files. B) Slows my machine. C) Sucks.

Could you elaborate on that? What are the problems with upgrading? Are they common? What sort of third-party issues? Is there a lot of software not working, or are there some hardware devices without properly working drivers, or what?

if i do get Vista, it'll be when i get another computer.

as for getting it to upgrade the current computer....just like the PS3, WAY TO EXPENSIVE.

plus, i dont think my card is good enough. And Apple said Vista is having issues with iTunes...i need that to put music/videos onto the iPod.
