So far so good. No injuries? 4 out of 6 hostages released? That's a miracle considering the last few school shootings have ended tragically.

Just keep praying and wishing, only two female high school students left that are hostages, negotiations are proceeding.

    I blame Kickback personally.

    Ok that was bad.

In all seriousness let's hope that this plays itself out without any deaths and quickly

I'm getting pretty tired of this warped vigilante justice that these nutjobs think they are entitled to.

If you really think that you are justified in harming and killing innocent people because you feel that your pathetic life has been wronged, do yourself and everyone else a favor and just end your life.

A similar situation just happened in Montreal. A man armed with an automatic rifle stormed a university campus college and opened fire, killing one woman, injuring 12 others. It finally ended with him taking his own life, though initial reports stated that he was shot down by police who had cornered him.

For Montreal, this was an eerie reminder of the massacre that occured there 16 years ago, when a man gunned down 14 nursing students.

Another factor is that the media will blame Metal Music, and violence on tv, and movies, and etc..etc, when its the kids themselves. They have the control over themselves, some may need help and its a shame this poor soul had to resort to this..

Growing up in L.A. I can attest to that, there were shootings in and arround schools all the time when I was in H.S. there in the early 90's it was not until Columbine that they made news as they were confined to places like L.A. where people just ignored them as things like that happen there, and still do and get ignored

I hope this ends without loss of life. :(

I hear ya...I almost never want to watch/read coverage of these sort of things. Always feels like very palpable issues such as the inherent cruelty of highschool social structure get glazed over.

My highschool had a threat made, when I was in grade 12. The laughable and kneejerking response will -always- be an anecdote I remember, even if it was both hilarious and depressing. In short: I wore a long coat for over a year before the threat happened. When it happened, my coat was at the cleaners. -Everyone seen wearing a long coat- was immediately brought in for questioning...except me. The one who'd been wearing one for ages, but wasn't seen in one that week. Note that the only evidence anyone had was that "JOCKS MUST DIE" was scrawled on the wall of one of the men's washrooms.

And the assembly we had on the matter was pure farce.

So the gunman's dead, someone was taken to a hospital via helicopter, and it's all over.

Indeed, and it's good that it didn't turn even more chaotic and tragic with lots of injuries and deaths.

    Here's the story.

A gunman, dressed as a student, hung around the school all morning trying to blend in with students. At 11:00am, he entered a classroom and fired one to two shots, taking the entire classroom hostage. He then ordered all the boys and teacher to leave, and kept the girls.

At 11:33am, a young boy text messaged his father to let him know what was going on.

At 12pm, the gunman called 9-1-1 and police officers arrived and evacuated the rest of the school. He took 6 females hostage and let them go one by one until there was only two.

At 3:30pm, the gunman refused to negotiate further with the police department, apparently negotiations were only about getting the police away from the area. After he refused to negotiate, the SWAT team rolled in and made entry.

It's sketchy after that. All we know is that the gunman is dead, and one of the female hostages received a gunshot to the head and was in grave condition on her way to the hospital.

Reports came in saying she died, but the hospital spokesperson, with tears in her eye, refused to comment on behalf of the family's request.

Students that were in the classroom have stated that it was one of the girl's father, upset about an on-going custody battle.

The questions that answers aren't certain of:

    - The true identity of the gunman
    - Whether or not the girl that has died is his daughter
    - Who shot who

    A sad, sad day.
