I looked up the Detolf units on Ikea, and was set to order a few, but the shipping on 3 of them was over $400. I could drive to Chicago and pick them up for a lot less if I had time, but I don't.

To make matters worse, I got a hold of Ikea to see if I could arrange shipping, since I work for an LTL carrier, and it would be under $100 if I did it that way. After a bit of back and forth, I was basically told no.

So, what else is everyone using? I'm curious what I may find locally. We have Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, Costco, and Sams all within 15 minutes of work or home.

I have 2 of the higher priced Ikea cases, the Nornas and the Fabrikor, which looks like its not even being sold anymore.

I've gone to the depot with plans and parts list for a custom case and gave up once I figured out parts cost, time and space needed, it was just easy to buy pre-fab'd.

I take the cheap and easy way out. I just buy the black 6' bookcases that you can find at just about any store for $20 - $25 each. I've got 20 of them lining my room in my basement. Sure they're not as nice as the Detolfs, but I'd have to spend a small fortune to get enough of them to display all my stuff.
