Hi, For years I have perused the TFW B/S/T threads looking for great deals, like everyone else mind you, but there is something that I CANNOT understand......

But 1st, it must be said, this only pertains to threads/lists that DO NOT have pictures with multiple figs in each pic. READ that last part again please b4 you decide to blast me about this post......

Why is it when, out of a long list of available items for sale, or even wanted items in a list, ppl proceed to put (SOLD/$OLD/Traded/etc) instead of simply deleting the line? I mean, is it to rub it in someone's face that they just missed a TRU MP Prime sold for 100 bucks b/c the seller was desperately in need of cash, or that it was traded to someone? Really, if someone took the time to EDIT a post just to copy and paste, or type "SOLD/TRADED" next to an item/fig, why not just DELETE the entire line???? By not doing this, it makes lists hard to read and often confusing to single out things you may be looking for. I think it's looks tacky, pointless, and stupid.

-Keep it simple, you want your list to be easy to read and locate what IS available, not trying to decipher what IS, and what ISN'T.

Again, this is just my opinion, and wanted to vent.

Some of us might want a written record of what we have sold in the past and every little backup helps.

Everyone has things that bug them. Like my big one is when people feel the need to put their name or some catch phrase at the end of everything they post. Tune it out and move on.

Yup. Why let little things like that bug you online when there's a lot to deal in the real world.

The only thing that bothers me is the lowballers.

It is pretty frustrating though when you use the search function to try to buy and sell, and results pop up and have sold, acquired, got it.

This really doesn't seem anything more than another drama thread. If you have a pet peeve with a forum or sub forum PM a mod.

That rule really doesn't apply and he isn't mouthing off and it isn't a staff decision.

He's bringing up a genuine concern of his.

He can do so with a mod via a PM, or in the Tech questions subforum.

    The thread is fine.

And that's a good point, keep your thread clean and to-the-point as a best practice to make it easier for your buyers.

I keep a record of what I've sold off site.

Yeah, I keep a record of sold items out of my sales thread. The only time I do it is as a shorthand while I'm on my cell. I generally try to keep things up to date as much as possible.

One of my pet peeves is people listing their wants in a sales thread. We have a wants section - just link there so the hits don't pop up in a search.

Also, the absence of prices bother me. I get it: some people like to haggle, but give me a starting place at least.

Pictures are most helpful, even if the photos aren't studio quality. It helps to show any defects, if so present. Also, if there are defects, just be up front.

Cheapass buyers. No matter what price you put, people will be asking for a lower price. Even if it is an already low price, you'll have someone asking for a lower price and worse yet, free shipping, which essentially is lowering the price again. Worse of these are the insultingly lower offers sometimes.

People who bump their threads daily. I see some threads with 30 replies. Look in it and every single one is the OP just putting 'bump' in the reply. Get the hint, nobody wants your shit.

People who want to buy but then suddenly don't have the $$. "I want it but can you hold it for a week until I get my paycheck" If you don't have the money, you shouldn't be asking to buy.

I also Hate the way people put SOLD on items. That's useless.

Sometimes I will put On Hold, but that's because it's not a done deal. If it's sold and you don't have it any more take it off the list.

If you want to keep a record that's what Excel Spreadsheets are for and if you want a back up stick it in a folder backed up on google drive.

No Prices also bugs me, people complain about low-ballers but if you give no idea what you're actually thinking something is worth to begin with I'm not going to haard a guess.

I have no problem with Low Ballers, I just laugh at them.

The Lack of a separate searchable UK section, as most of the time Sellers in America don't want to post to Buyers in the UK and vice versa.

Well, I know I put "Sold" on items until the item is 100% complete, i.e. they let me know they got it, feedback was left, something like that. Then once it is 100% done, I remove it from my list. I do that so there is a record of what I had it listed it, etc while the item is in transit.

    *searches for item*
    Item - SOLD
    Item - SOLD
    Item - on want list
Item - for sale, but no price and the seller makes it clear he doesn't want low-ballers
    Item - SOLD
Item - doesn't actually show up in the thread. DAMN YOU SEARCH FUNCTION!
Item - for sale and with a price, but seller's in a different country/continent and one/both of you don't want to bother with that
    Item - on want list
Item - turns out there's a Yugioh card with the same name
    Item - SOLD
Item - for sale and with a price and in the same country, but the thread and seller haven't been active for months

    *sigh*

I get that a lot of the above has reasoning and/or is unavoidable, but man does it suck to get a lot of pointless search results.

    My list of peeves-
#1 No prices (I'll back right outta any thread that doesn't have prices. You know what you want for it, just put it out there)
#2 No pictures (In this day and age, I would think most people have access to add a photo or two)
#3 Scalping (I've always looked at our sales boards as a way to help fellow collectors get what they need without resorting to EBay prices. It drives me crazy when sellers come in asking for ridiculously high prices. Go sell it on EBay! speaking of....)
#4 EBay listings in the Sales thread (There's a whole separate forum for that)
#5 Wanted items in the Sales thread :) banghead:)

Not a pet peeve but an odd observation of my viewing habits. I only look at sales threads that have 0 or only a couple replies. Not even sure why I do that.

Count me in this camp as well. It does make it difficult to search for things when the results either come up sold or as someone else that wants it too or with no price.

The lack of pics I can understand. It's a pain in the ass sometimes to post them. It isn't just click and then post right from the phone like you can with facebook, you have to take the pic, upload it to the computer, then upload it to a pic hosting website (like photobucket) and THEN link that in the thread. That takes time. A lot of time actually. Per picture. However, what does bug me is when someone just types "CHUG Astrotrain" and then doesn't specify if it's the Classics US one or the Japanese Henkei one with no pic to clarify.

Scalping bugs me too. Like, I get that people want to get what stuff is actually worth, but we're also looking here because we don't want to pay as much as we would on ebay. And seconding on the ebay listings in thread as well. If I wanted to look at ebay listings, I wouldn't be browsing the forums here, I would actually just be on ebay.
