Wow, just wow. If that is indeed confirmed, GermanWings airlines is done, as in a business and may be facing charges under EU law.

That's messed up on their part. You don't let an unstable man fly a plane.

This, and IIRC I think all pilots have to go through psychological testing before being cleared for the job.

Agreed. They need to also look into what type of medicine these people use as well. Everyone needs to be psychologically cleared before they can fly.

Sorry, even though I am a person that takes medication for anxiety, that should automatically disqualify me from flying a passenger plane.

ALL modern medication for depression, anxiety, and such are dangerous when either mixed with something, not taken as prescribed, cease taking, or changes in dosages. Who knows what happened with this guy. He should have NEVER been cleared for flight taking ANY medication for depression.

I take anti-anxiety medicine and I fully agree edgs. It's dangerous for people who have high anxiety and depression to fly anything.

if this is true and the airline new about it then they best be hiring some bankruptcy lawyers stat as they are gonna get hit with a lot of wrongful death suits.

I had to quit watching the news when I found out the Co pilot deliberately drove the plane into the mountain. So very sad for all involved.

Saw this on earlier news as well... they said from the black box recording you could hear all the passengers screaming, knowing what was going to happen to them.

The Captain had left the cabin for a bathroom break, the Co Pilot locked him out... and kept him from using his code to get back in.

The news report called it mass murder.
