As a parent of a toddler and also one that wants more kids, I'm just at a loss of words and I'm trying to wrap my head around this. In California Measles Parties Are The Hip New Anti-Vaxxer Trend
No offense to anyone in California. But it doesn't surprise me that this is going on in California. People are stupid and the movie Idiocracy is becoming real.
*smdh* Yet another reason why I'll never move back there. Brawndo for measles. Because it has electrolytes!
Ugh, yeah, I just escaped CA last year. It's hard to miss you, when you do stuff like this, California...
Between this, the real estate, plastic bag ban, quinoa/kale in everything, organically sourced vegan everything, and traffic, it seems like California is giving Florida and Arizona a run for craziest place to live on the planet.
Whoa, now. CA will never be that bad (I hope). At least CA trusts people to pump their own gas... unlike my new home.
Oh snap! Polio party in my hotel room at Botcon! I'll charge parents an entry fee and pay for my whole trip!
My buddy who sent me that article works for the department of public health in Baltimore. He has a one month old baby. He is absolutely ripshit angry about the whole measles thing. Babies cannot be given the MMR shot until after they are a year old. So basically if you live in an area where the measles cases are and you have a less than a year old baby, your baby is pretty much defenseless. Same with parents with kids who have battled diseases that have left their immune systems crippled.
Yeah, I'm so thankful my daughter is 8 and has been vaccinated for years. I'd be scared to death if I had an infant right now. Probably irrational panic on my part. But I'd be worried some knuckleheads kid in daycare would infect mine. Ugh...
Un freakin believable. I don't get the anti vaccination thing anyway. "Hey, you know that thing that can kill you? Well here's something that stops you from getting it." "Get that poison away from me, WITCH!!!" I mean seriously? How stupid can people be?
