Sorry to read about the bad news. Some folks I know are warning me of a slow down in the global economy...something about a 7 year cycle.
Thanks guys, I learned to cope with it. It's not like that's the only job out there. January and most part of February are the hardest months of the year, jobwise
Good luck on your road to remployment. I was released from the project I had been on early this month. I was working for them as a contract hire for over two years. I partly blame my medical condition since it made me look more tired (sleepy) than I usually did and the client saw that as unprofessional. My former manager did help me find a lateral position with a different client so it's working out good. I get to work from home now and start later in the day. I get to make my doctor appoinments without having to reschedule work.
Thanks man...And I am sorry to hear about your medical conditions. I remember a few years ago back in 2004, where I was working at a 24 hours fast food burger joint and was doing graveyard shifts for about 2 years (don't get me wrong, I loved working at nights at the time, made tons of tips, thanks to the drunkies ), but I remember one morning I had a hard time getting out of bed, never felt this tired before, I sensed a decrease on my energy levels, so I went to see my doctor and he told me I'm having a burnout and that I he advised to me to go on sick leave, which I did, and at the same time I had the opportunity to see if this is really what I want to do. Upon returning to work, I notified my boss that I am stopping, gave my 2 weeks noticed, still did my job as usual, but I didn't had it in me anymore as I outgrew the restaurant business. I know what it's like when your medical condition prevents you from doing your work.
It's just a job loss, I am not letting this get me down, I refuse to let this get to me. I am less upset than I was yesterday
These destinations are options as I crossed out Cuba and Dominican Republic. Jamaica could also be an option. Also, I found out by a good friend of mine, that if I am on Unemployment and I go on vacation, I won't receive benefits for the week I am gone, he goes that if I want to go on vacation, I should go before applying for UI (Unemployment).
It's true, you will not receive benefits for any period you are out of the country and / or not ready to work.
Bah, piss on it, they don't know your not there, just go have fun. They do that same crap here, but I go wherever whenever, since I always had the rainy day fund for an extra here or there Apply for jobs while gone and voila! you did your duty. As far as vacations I prescribe a tropical climate, double dose of hookers and a single dose of blow. Take as needed and enjoy
