"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" Discussion thread

One of the good things about living in Australia is that our films are always released on a Thursday, while in the US they seem to come out on a Friday - which means we often get big films a day earlier than the rest of the world.

So today I went and saw the new pirates film. Be warned, there be spoilers within. Yarrrr.

It was pretty freaking good. Orlando Bloom was slightly more tollerable this time. It seemed to be a bit more comical than the first one (from memory) - lot's of wacky fun action scenes. There's a very good 3-way sword fight that takes place on a giant rolling water-wheel. And of course there's a Kraken. Giant squids are cool. And of course it ends with a huge cliff-hanger. I'm kind of annoyed, because there's no real closure to the film, but it does mean that we get more pirate action next year. Which is always a good thing. Also, there are a few actors from UK sitcoms (there's Steve from Coupling and Gareth from The Office) which were kind of distracting as I was always thinking "hey, it's that guy from Coupling!" Ah well, still good.

That's all I will read! LOL! I'm really looking forward to this show...in fact more that Superman Returns! I really enjoyed the first one...I hope the 2nd doesn't disappoint...anyway, a third movie is a done deal...if I remembered, they wanted to flim the 3rd movie con-currently with the 2nd one.
