Between two junker Turbo Tracks, I'm going to end up with enough parts to make an entire Tracks. However, I'm saving up for a United version of Tracks. My stupid question of the month is this: With a few mods to the design, can you visualize a decent Soundwave from a Reveal the Shield Turbo Tracks? I'd like a decent alternators-style car mode for Soundwave. As for modifications: I'm adding a new head (of course.) Removing the tribal details from the hood. Trimming the feet so they look less duck-footed. Narrowing the torso so it doesn't automorph into the wide shoulder width the original toy had. Maybe moving the shoulder wheels to the backpack. Maybe making the wings movable or removable so they can hide away in the backpack.
Like I always say...Anything can be everything. Maybe try a digibash and work out some of your ideas....ALLRIGHT I'll do it. I'm not crazy about it, but it could be a nice bridge between G1 and his movie self.
Crap! I forgot to yell "Patent pending!" on the idea when I posted it! Neat, but I'd keep the wings. I was going for a realistic Soundwave who looks like he could actually fly under his own power, so I'd think the wings are a must at the very least. I'd recommend some gold to his torso, too. Maybe making them into gold stripes for the deco would be worthwhile? Oh, and I had one super idea about having him have a little avatar drone that evoked his original design, but updated to be more like an mp3 player docked stereo made from one of those Soundwave headmasters.
It's just not something I'd be interested in. I like what you've done here, especially . . . . . . . . yep! I'd like to see this idea made silver, though. I think I would be on board for Classics-styled movieverse toys. But G1 characters like Soundwave? Not so much. Just my opinion for all it's worth.
I value feedback but you haven't really given me a very good explanation about why you don't like the idea. Is it because Soundwave should be just a portable media player? What's the reason? I just need a little clarification. Plus, I was thinking about using a Generations Wheelie as a Blaster (based on this. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/596145-generations-blaster.html ) That's why I was considering making a Soundwave from a car Transformer.
Yeah, for Classics - Generations, I'd just prefer some kind of media device as "SOUNDWAVE". I'd be fine with a moiveverse Soundwave, though.
I can respect that, but I'm trying to avoid the whole mass-shifting thing that's inevitably tied to portable devices.
If Soundwave is going to turn into a car, I think that's fine... No mass shifting, that's fine... Not a portable device, that's fine with me. But if this is to be the case, Soundwave should not have minions. This is the main problem with the current Generations Soundwave... and without the minions, the Gen 1, series 1 Decepticon lineup is pretty sparse. As long as we get a Soundwave that has has an earth mode, though, I could make do, as there is still the Frenzy and Rumble that turn into tanks. At first I didn't like your idea but it's growing on me.
