Ack! Need to remove annoying paint! Help please :(

Hey guys. I put some old Testor's enamel paint on my PRID Ratchet. Didn't turn out the way I wanted. Big mistake. I'm new to the whole painting business, but I'm pretty sad.

So I scraped off most of it with Paint thinner and a cotton swab thing. Buuut there's the problem of the little nooks and crannies. I scraped off most of that with a toothpick.

BUT there's still a teensy bit in there that I can't get out with a tooth pick. And there's also the problem of the white being an oh-so light shade of red. I tried my hardest to scrub it off with alcohol, paint thinner, and regular soap water and none of it worked. I wanna try and get it as factory-fresh as possible to prepare for the Repro set.

Any tips/hints/ideas/suggestions?

The affected areas:

If you can disassemble the parts, soak them in thinner for just a bit.

Any way you can parts swap with a new Ratchet?

The parts in question are attached via pins and I'm not skilled enough to remove them without totaling the figure. I'd soak the whole thing but I'm afraid that'd remove the factory paint like it did to my first Knock Out.

And I'm trying to avoid buying another one. Where I live he's as hard to find as a vehicon and I'm done with online shopping for awhile lol

Try using some Q-tips and thinnner then. I know you said you already used toothpicks, but give those another whirl again, too.

I think at this point, if it were my project, I'd mask off the areas that you didn't want white, and go to the spray booth to paint those areas white again.

Buy some, or are you working with limited funds right now?

Correct. Plus university is right around the corner and I'd rather not get the sprays just to have them sit in a box until I get back

So I think I may be done, but I'd appreciate a second opinion. What do you guys think? Does this look pretty good?

No idea why some of 'em are dark. Some weird thing with imgur.

Try soaking paper towel in alcohol and folding it in a square, then placing it on top of the area you want for an hour or so, (you may have to keep soaking the pad) then use a toothbrush in warm soapy water to remove the paint

Try using a toothbrush it helps really get in there to get the excess off.
