Oh, another one would probably be that i wish i knew about all the sources for misc. parts on the internet. Trying to scavenge ball joints and such were a pain, until i realised you could just buy them off the web.

1: PATIENCE. if spraying (with rattle cans or an airbrush), light coats. and let the paint dry properly

2: rubbing alcohol is acrylics best friend, when the whole time I thought water was.

3: PREP/SAND/PRIME the figure, it will save your butt in the end.

4: dont burn yourself out on the custom. frustration leads to anger, anger leads to rage, rage leads to throwing the custom accross the room

If you can, while you're painting, try to take the toy apart.

It makes things sooo much easier.

Thanks! I really like for our Tutorials resources to be well organized and very coherent. It's most helpful for anyone accessing them :)

Yeah, I suppose that can happen every so often. It is one reason I left this thread here and made another for the Tutorials section. That sort of thing wouldn't happen often, though, especially after this thread has been open for a while (over a half of a year now) and reminders have been posted several times. I figure if anyone has anything to add, they would have most likely have done so by now.

I would encourage anyone to contribute though :)

I'm a bit late to the party I'm afraid, I dabble in customs but never make the time to have a good look around here. :(  If I may add though:

I wish I'd been more patient during painting - it's better to apply several thin coats, letting each coat dry thoroughly, rather than rushing the whole thing to get it looking 'finished' sooner.
