Help With Scratch Builds

I'm new and have done only one custom because someone ese had done it and my brother wanted it done. But that was just drilling a few holes. I'm now trying to make a jetpack for my battle begins prime and have no parts. I would also like to delve into build some things from scratch. I want to try devastastor and omega supreme (G1 and animated respectively) but have no experience. Any how to vids or advice/instructions? Thanks.

My advice is to start really small. If you try to tackle something really big, you're going to get frustrated and it will never get finished.

I think the jetpack is a good place to start, but I wouldn't start completely from scratch. See if you can find other parts and make the jetpack, then maybe add some other components made from styrene.

First, you need to go to the Tutorials:

Table of Contents

Then, you can pick up stryene pieces at your local hobby shop.

Wanna start something from scratch? there are (3) things you need to start with:

1) Paper
2) Pencil
3) Ruler / scale.

Draw the thing out and imagine the mechanics. Then head out to hobby stores and harware stores to pind as many moving part components. Measure them up and put them into your drawings.

That's a good starting point. Once you have things drawn out, you can then start recognizing and identifying the materials and components you need.
I hate Transformers. I've been hating Transformers since 1985... and I have the toys, comics, videos and DVD's to prove it.

Independant thought in a fandom can be an unwelcome and dangerous thing.
