I think you should start off making accessories first.
Like the movie prime gun and matrix.
You can make fully articulated hands for movie prime and other figures too.
That way, if sales don't match up to expectation, at least you make a smaller loss.

Non-transforming TFs are a major downer for me.
If I wanted more non-transforming mechas,
I'll just buy more perfect grade gundams.

SO, with that said, I wouldn't even send out the letter. Unless ofcourse you're worried about draining your account of all monies ofcourse.

Or, are you basically saying, "hey, can I have your permission to make this?"

Thanks!! Good thing I asked you guys.

As for the accessories idea, I could see that working out better. While the Prime model would be cool, I can't see it selling too well, unless it is incredibly detailed (which would probably cost a lot of $ to design and produce). Accessories, on the other hand, wouldn't require as much detailing and would probably be in higher demand.

That, and I would love to see someone make a Star Saber accessory that can fit in Universe Hot Shot's hands.
Yeah, I'll try making Leader Prime's blasters first and see where it goes from there. The Prime model WILL be incredibly detailed. Which is why my jaw dropped when I calculated the amount of money I needed for 3D printing those small parts and making molds for production. I estimated a good 42 parts just for the hands.

Yeah, I'll try that. But I disagree with your sentiment when it comes to the movie Transformers mechas. I collect movie collectibles, so I need a figure or a statue from this movie that is screen accurate. But I have to say that those toy designers are real geniuses. I tried figuring out how to make a peterbilt truck transform to Optimus while keeping his body proportions in tact, and I found myself not being able to sleep at night for 2 days.

Once you get these guns out....let me know. I'd buy a set in a heart beat. Btw, did you see the new Prime ver.2? He's got a gun now. You could, you know, *cough*, steal that idea, quick.

Like you said, "a" gun. Besides, the gun is from those two kibbles on his back. Which means that when he holds the gun, the back will look funny.

No need to concern yourself with the price. I don't think I can ever get this figure done. The more I look at my reference pictures, the more I feel discouraged. It's not that hard to model the parts. But it is difficult figuring out how to make this figure fully articulated. I also found out why Hasbro's designers use ratchet joints in their Leader Optimus figure. It's because the damn pelvis is sooooo narrow and has to carry sooo much weight. It doesn't take much imagination to figure it out. Look at the attached picture here. Suppose I get it to stand (using ball joints for the hips, btw), it won't be able to stand for a long period of time because of the way the pelvis was designed. It will always fall to the front or back depending on how much weight is shifted to the front or back. And I can't possibly design ratchet joints! I'm no engineer!

So if someone has a better idea, please let me know. Thank you in advance for this. In the mean time, I'll try and find me some better reference pictures for the blasters. I want them to be as screen accurate as possible.

As suggested before, your best bet is to go the route of accessories first and see where that takes you. I hope you do decide to make completely accurate guns for movie prime. If you do, make sure to make a set of 2, 1 right and 1 left. I'd buy a set if not to expensive.
