Thought I'd share with you all some cool news. Tomorrow I start my first "in house" employee. I interviewed a few local people, and selected a very talented young woman (yes girls can do this too, lol)
She's starting tomorrow, and once I break her in (if she doesn't quit tomorrow lol) I'll be having her help me out on keeping commissions and custom orders in order and up to date.
Quite exciting, I've never been anyone's boss before. I hope I'm not the "asshole boss" kind of guy.
Her responsibilities will include everything from follow ups on commission requests, disassembling figures, priming, base coating, etc...until I get her to the skill where she can start helping me with details and stuff like that. |

I had to read The Art of War when I was in the service and it oddly enough gives really practical examples for taking care of the people under you and with some imagination you can translate it to office space leadership skills.

but on a more serious note, a cousin of mine in the toy industry for about 20 years is visiting this weekend for the 4th BBQ at my house. He's going to set up some future projects with some manufacturing companies domestically, so I can (eventually) slow down on customs and do them more as a 2nd source of income (which will allow me lots more time to do each one) Hoping to be a US based Fans Project by the end of the year... | |
