So I got my cool Break Away toy today but I was a little let down that it seemed like his head was locked in place (might have been just mine but just incase any one else has this issue). Seeing as it had screws in the back of his head I had a little look inside and low and behold I found it rather easy to fix (and I'm no kitbash/custom toy kinda guy)

ok so all it takes is 3 easy to find screws taken out to open up the torso I found that screws had little resistance and everything was loose inside (huzaa)

as we can see the glass cockpit window and the chin are right up agaist each other locking the head in place (lame)

So now take out the glass (mine actually fell out as I opened the toy) and pull up his head (thats on a ball joint as well...)

now we could fix this in 2 ways 1 cut into the chin or glass or 2 just loosen up the back of the head a tad and tilt his head. I personally went with the less permanent choice but cutting the plastic might me more effective.

Ok now to put him back together and this is the key part of this mod. As you place the glass back in make sure the chin fits into the area inside that little bit of glass (or is at least pointing up)

and now you just bolt him all together and your done Awesome pose time

    BONUS FUN TIME

also another cool side effect is being able to hide his sad sad puppy eyes
just turn his mug around and push down

    Teh lame

    Teh Cool

    Hey thats a cool mod!
Just so every one knows keep a look out, there are two different paint schemes out there of this guy. They both have the same name but one is a darker brown than the other.

Did a different mod with the Main wings pegged on his legs and shrunk the backpack.

    Yeah, but then he's basically a parts-former.

Question btw : does the plastic of this mold feel soft enough to easily cut it
with an exacto knife ? Or is it the really hard stuff which requires safety measurements before cutting ?

It all seems like the softer, nylon-ish plastic. You should have no problem cutting through it. Either way, you should always take safety precautions!:thumbs2:

Here's my backpack mod. Simple if you cut a few tabs at the wings and stabilizers. The plastic does indeed cut easily with an X-acto knife. The "no cut" head mod could work well here as well, but as you can see I already gripped the head for something else. I want to build out the shoulders a bit by having the nose cone split and fold to the sides, like shoulder pads. I also need to swap the hands too, and I want to remove the middle two toes so he doesn't have those ridiculous Sasquatch feet!

I see the there's a pin which runs throughout the toes.... does the small outer toe serve as the back end pin holder ? Because...my idea was to cut away the small outer toe, but if that means the pin would go loose, the middle toe might fall out and then I'd rather not cut off the outer toe.

I noticed that, but I think it is just to give some insurance against rough play. I really don't think there are two parts there, but I'll find out later when I do some toe amputation:thumbs2:
