what i normally do, is asometimes I put on a coat of testors dullcote, and then i put a coat of future floor polish on him. most of the times I just stick with future, that stuff is amazing *edit* i guess that wasnt very helpful, lol. testors is always good, so maybe some testors clear coat?
Ha Ha that stuff is strong, better be wearing a mask LOL I love the smell of the future, smells like my Customs are clean, pun intended.
are you calling me a glue sniffer how dare you.... huh ?umm? what were we talking about again ? nah but on a serious note i don't use a mask but either a fan ventilated spray booth or i go outside.
I have always stuck with Krylon matte clear finish, or krylon flat clear. They spray on nice and even, and are thin enough on top of the paint that they don't allow for rubbing.
While I like future, I don't use it too often. I think it tends to build up and sometimes discolor the paint it's coating. It's also water based, which I am not a fan of. I've had cured customs with future on them get sticky to the touch if picked up with hands that are wet. They also seem to be very vulnerable to any alcohol, so if by chance, somehow windex or rubbing alcohol got on a custom with future, it would reactivate the future and get sticky, dirty or smudge. I religiously use Testors and Krylon. Usually Krylon for clear coats DURING painting stages (I apply several coats) and Testors for any FINAL clear coats. The dull coat is by far the best matte finish I've found, 1 coat and it's VERY flat. The gloss Testors is the same, 1 coat, and VERY shiny. I've tried Tamiya's and Krylon's gloss coats, and get a hazy result, and it requires more coats (thicker isn't good) Testor's is great, but also very expensive, however 1 can should be able to coat 2 or more customs.
