I'm wanting to kitbash the weapon(s) of Armada Rhinox who I'm using as a Classics/Universe character named Xenox. A friend and fellow board member is gonna give me a spare TM Rhinox horn if he ever finds it. I'm wanting to mod both horns to make them look like guns.


Currently his main horn looks like this:





I'm wanting to make it resemble the horn he has here:



Doesn't look like it should be too hard, the front of the horn just needs to be hollowed out. How would one go about doing this?



Another thing I was wondering about was how hard would it be to make Rhinox able to have 2 horns side by side in his beast mode. I was planning on both horns storing in his shoulders when not in use as it looks kind of cool as well as accessible during combat.



I was also wondering how hard it'd be to give his horns energon blades sort of like Asuma's wind chakra infused trench knives:






The last thing concerning me is both his horns will be different colors, I had planned to use tamiya light gunmetal gray spray paint on both of them and then detail them with a sharpie. How hard will it be to paint these? Will i need to prime them first? What color sharpie should I do the detailing in?

That Asuma chakra blade idea sounds sweet!!!

Either way, you could scratch build your pieces from some styrene, or (more expensive) Gundam kits are a gold mine for such things (vents/blasters/etc)

Either way, I love tha chakra blaade idea (especially ssince he is not with us anymore! Dattebayo!!!)

 

Pin vise, drill out the tip.

 

I'd shorten the horn as well, to keep it proportioned like in the pic.

 

I prefer to keep his horn it's standard length as this gun will also double as a melee blade for close range combat.

 

Thanks, I plan to use the same mod on Armada Cheetor's tail where the blade is. Wanna make his tail into an energon scythe.
