I hope i post this in the right area...

I want to convert Photos to real cool looking comic-like pictures.
i've seen that many times at deviantart, but i don't lknow how these gods are doing that!

i've Adobe/Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004, and i really hope i could do that with this.

has anyone found a how-to in the web?

with google i didn't find anything, 'cause i don't know the right words for searching!

    thank you :)

you need Adone Photoshop CS3. There is an action you can get that will help you on that.

Photoshop isn't complicated--shoehorning other applications to mimic Photoshop's features is, though. You don't need CS3--CS or CS2 will suit you fine...can you post a link to an example image? If you want good results, you're going to have to look further than a simple PS action.

on your main menu bar, there is a drop down menu called Filters. Play around with those, i know there is one that does paint style. you can adjust the length and width of strokes as well........well this is just the basics......for the real good looking, theres alot more involved

just get photoshop, as stated above you can just click on the filters menu and drag a scouple of sliders around, there are ones that will give you all different types of paint effects, ones that will give you outlines etc, everything you need

Check the software that came with the camera...if you have a digital. I have a Kodak EasyShare and the edit program that came with that has that feature on it.

otherwise, try something like this in Google
    "photo to paint"
