This is a concept I have had for many years, and even tried executing with Sculpey(Bad Idea), but now that I have started 3D modeling I can now do it with ease. I started out using Tinkercad but I now need something more reliable for larger builds. Is there any free programs I can use?

Here is my design so far:[IMG]

I used the G1 toy for inspiration and transformation, along with the G1 episode: "The Golden Lagoon".

When you have physical work to show, just create a new thread in Customs; sketches, plans, etc. go in Fan Art.

As is, it seems you're looking more for advice before you start work (?). Creative General Discussion is our think tank, so discuss away here!

Here's my progress so far. I tried learning how to use blender but it became to painstaking as I have other projects I need to do. Seems like I'm sticking to TinkerCad until I learn how to use Blender. The Autobot sign was made by dSASQUATCH707 on Thingverse.

The Chest Splits into two interlocking parts to accommodate for the swivel joint that is on the hips. There's a crevice above the Ball Joints on the hips to allow leg movement. The wheel connects to the arm with a pin that glues into a slot in the arm.

I am working on the lower half of his arm then moving to the legs. I might make this into a "kit" or save up money to order a few and sell them as customs. So far the engineering is going well and feel free to give constructive criticism.
