Hi everyone! I'm currently trying to remove the paint from the torso part of a Combiner Wars First Aid. As people with that figure may know, there's a lot of little sculpted detail there. I've been soaking the parts in 99% alcohol for over 24 hours, and even after that long and armed with a toothbrush, I can't get it all off. I would like the end result to be pristine white plastic. Any advice?
while i've never done complete paint removal, i heard q tips work well when dipped in either alchohol or acetone.....i forgot which.....also try mister clean magic erasers. it might take a bit for the crevasses, but it does good......
I second the toothpick/needle idea. It's what I use to get paint out of molded line detailing. I also use a very small flathead screwdriver, like the kind used for eyeglasses.
An ultrasonic cleaner can help (but it's not discriminating, only use it on something you want to take ALL the paint off of)
