Customs: Question about Masterpiece disassembly

    Hey guys, my upcoming project will be to make a MP-14 Red Alert resemble his Transformers Devastation counterpart. Rather than paint him and risk the grief of paint rub, I'm considering getting a KO MP14 and a KO MP12G Sideswipe and swapping the legs. I could use some tips from anyone who has meddled with Masterpiece figures.

    This is a mock up of what I'm going for:

    This mold uses a ball joint hip similar to many 1/12 figures I have customized. I'm wondering if a simple application of heat will allow the leg to pop off the joint for an easy swap or if actually cracking the mold lines will be necessary.

    Furthermore, I will have to swap out the lambo shell on the feet there and it's attached by pins. Any tips?
