Hello there. The other day, I was looking through a container full of the figures I don't have room to display quite yet and found a Leader Class Megatron I got several years ago. One that was in good condition aside for...one issue. The "winglet" on the right side snapped off of it's ring several years ago, and you can see the remains of a failed attempt by my younger self to simply glue it back together. And to make matters worse- The other one has stress marks as well. But I've decided that I want to finally invest proper time and resources into not only restoring the figure (ideally by using styrene to reinforce the ring to avoid future snappage while being careful not to make it too snug for the gears to fit), but also turning it into the fellow on the left here. I think it's fair to say I have my work cut out for me on this one. Does anyone have a few recommendations about where I might start with the restoration process (the right kind of glue, what tools I might need, etc) or on some of the other things I'll be needing to do?
I wish I had tips to offer, but alas I do not. You made end up doign better off finding a junker to replace parts. In other news, I find it ironic you want to do this project, cuz I doodled up a head to turn that same toy into Star Saber's nemesis, Deathsaurus I need to revise it to incorporate cues from DJW's own quick sketch
Indeed, it's a bit of a funny situation. Might I add, you did a very good job drawing up a bust for Deathsaurus. Still, I hope to repair the one I have and work from there.
I appreciate the compliment :] It's kinda my shtick, the new head thing. Just finished a collaborative project to make a proper TFA Roadbuster, check it out at the Radicons! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...buster-conversion-kit-available-purchase.html
