So I'm new and this is the first time I've ever used styrene plastic boards. I got myself a few in different thicknesses, and poles to start out with. Problem is I don't know what to do. What's a good thing to start on with this stuff? What do you use it for? Any tips an tricks? I also got myself some automotive bumper fixative stuff that hardens that I can sand down for connections and whatnot. Anyway, what can I practice doing or practice building guys?
Guns and swords. Both are relatively easy, plus you can be super-creative with the designs. You can even pick a figure you want to arm, then design a weapon specifically for that figure. Creativity with a boundary.
Gets me wondering: is there any tutorials around on designing things with styrene? Might be a cool how-to out there that would be helpful...
I did a tutorial forever ago on scratchbuilding which I didnt see when i searched but these all popped up so have a look here http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/search.php?searchid=5903702 BTW these are all located in the Tutorials and How to section in radicons
I'll be using it here to cover up the toggle switch so I only have the lever sticking out cleanly. Also on a side note, all my images I ypload get turned on it's side and I can only post one image per reply! I don't get it. I have the option to put multiple pics but it just shows the last image I uploaded.. Anyone else have this issue?
Just did this today covered the switch to the eye lights to starscream, mostly covered, just the nub sticking out, and bindod it, will sand tomorrow and give it nice corners.
Painted everything except the body part that houses all the electronics and head, will do that by hand due to details and whatnot. 3 coats in. Letting it cure for 24hrs. Lookin good so far! I'm excited to see him all flat green and gold, with gold LEDs shining from his eyes.
nobody in particular, just having fun and trying out stuff with this one. I have another starscream Im thinking of making into Overlord since they r so similar in body types (with some minor alterations
Yeah. I grew up in Europe, and had his toys as a kid, he was my favorite, I had no idea what I had in my hands back then! Today I have the japanese version in the box in perfect condition. Wish it was the European one but oh well! Obarodo is overlord in japanese lol.
It's exactly like model kit styrene. You can get various sizes and thicknesses. Model glue is also the best thing to use on it as it's inexpensive and "welds" it together nicely.
