I'm a big fan of Combiner Wars, which stems from my general interest in combiners as a whole, and I already have a number of toys in my collection (Superion, Firefly and Dragstrip, all three of which were gifts, plus Skydive and Powerglide; I also have Air Raid, Dead End and Breakdown on layby at my local Kmart).

My favourite combiners are the four core Scramble City gestalts, and I'd like to collect each of their CW versions. I already have 75% (ish) of the deluxe Aerialbots I need to form Superion, but the black hand/foot pieces kind of bug me, and I'm already too invested in the CW Aerialbots to consider getting the Takara version, not to mention I can't afford them at the moment. But I digress...

I'm interested in trying out customisation of Transformers toys, and I figure I should start with something fairly simple. I'd also prefer my Superion's hands/feet to be white, so it makes sense to start with this idea. The problem is I have no idea where to begin. I thought about using white spray-paint on them, but I doubt it's that simple. Could any experienced Radicons please give this protoform some tips and advice? Thanks in advance. :)

It can be simple or complex. Either way, white over black isn't the easiest.

The simple route is to spray the piece white, then hit the missed areas with a brush and enamel white paint.

Complex involves pin-removal and masking. The pin that holds the fingers is very easy to pop. The ones that hold the 'thumb' and the hinge joint for the peg aren't as easy, but not hard.
Popping pins takes some know-how, so it's best to look over some tutorials.

With both techniques, I'd strongly recomment using masking tape on the combiner port peg, as well as the 5mm holes for weapons. Better to have those unpainted than have the paint either rub off, stick in the port or cause weapons to get stuck in the hands.
