As much as I'd love to my camera is dead and I can't find the charger.

I am experimenting with the blue pins and I think I know what you're talking about. If I have any advice I'd probably add some material to add friction. I think I've heard floor polish being a good agent but I'll need someone to confirm that.

This is just as much as an experiment to me as it is to you.

Here ya go. I swapped the sing pivot for a ball joint which should help combiners that tend to lean forward and back. I also highlighted each brick in a different color and removed the outer shell to showcase the inner mechanics.

 

Update:
Progress on the Lego/TECHNIC combiner feet is on pause but initial tests show the feet are not too strong I'm afraid. I'm not sure if additional friction will resolve this issue. The only idea to resolve this is to add some weight on the feet. Overall though, despite my intent I'm most likely going to end this experiment.

In other news I got BC Optimus and he's being converted into the torso for the Detectibots leader. I'm actually tempted to get another of the mold and turn it into Energon Rodimus but I would prefer a second opinion on this idea before going through with it. He sadly won't have his own limbs and thus be something akin to Galvatronus as a combiner.

Some Aerialbot news. Unfortunately Steelwind is going to be replaced by another character. While this is not my original intent I've decided in preference to wanting a symmetrical Superion which means acquiring a second helicopter. I'll hold on to Steelwind and see if I can get another use out of him in the future but when his replacement arrives he will be removed from my Aerialbot roster.

Some Stunticon news. I'm attempted to retry Crasher with the Mirage mold to give the character some differences compared to Drag Strip. I converted my Offroad into Prime Breakdown like Takara's set of Grand Galvatron. I do have another Offroad bought but I saving him for Victorion along with a spare Prowl. Since now I need a new member for the Stunticons I've chosen the the Universe femcon known as Rollcage for the newcomer. Since she doesn't have any defined personality - aside from being a Drag Strip clone - I'm thinking of depicting her as the team drunk. This is not permanent as I may change my mind in future.


Last bit of news, although this is technically more of an idea, but I've discovered a use for CW Swindle/Hound and that being Roadmaster from the IDW comics. The heads are not accurate but the mold is there.

 

Those are some pretty damn good ideas, Rob! Am trying to think of more repaint ideas myself, after I've done my Quake n Guzzle projects; might kinda borrow your idea of doing a couple of extra 'bots for Victorion..

 

Alright. Minor update but mostly a Q&A.
So I've listed down what I still need to make a set of limbs for Galvatronus, my two female combiners, and Bruticus. I'm not going to bother with Sky Reign as it's not my interest but I will pick up some of the deluxes for repurposing. Sadly my stores are a bit inconsistent with their TFs stock but hopefully I can still pick up the necessary supplies from another store.

Anyways. Here's my question for you guys. Since we got artwork for Liokaiser I want to try giving him the same treatment as I did with every previous combiner: Two extra deluxe figures. Now thankfully there is a small roster to choose from but I want to hear all the same. Pick any two and I'll try to make it happen.

I put Esmeral on the list on the suspicion that Liokaiser's new Torso is Deathsaurus which most likely isn't the case.

Whoops. I forgot about him. Plus the new torso some have speculated to be a fusion between him and Leozack. But yes he's now an option. So to update:

Leozack (Aerialbot), Lyzack (Aerialbot), Deathcobra (Helicopter), and Jallguar (Swindle/Hound).

 

Okay so since my local retail markets cant get a decent supply of transformers it looks like I'm going to have to release whatever components to my two female combiners when they are done. Thankfully I got a good number of molds for each team so there none of them are a team missing an arm or leg.

This issue applies to Bruticus and Galvatronus. Both are now incomplete due to this lack of supply. I am going to try one last place of retail but if that doesnt work I'm going to go online to get TFs.

 

So apparently Deluxe Groove is becoming a reality as he is now up for preorder (release in May 2016). So I guess my only question is the following. Should I get him should I repurpose him for either of my female combiners or just use him as is but take awway one of my auxilary Protectobots (Hosedown or Searchight)? Or perhaps use Deluxe Groove for Victorion?

 

So rececntly i posted an idea for a new combiner, one I hadnt previously concieved, and I'm going to echo that same idea here for anyone's interest.

The premise of the combiner is the hyppothetical that IDW Starscream would create his own army of combiners out of a fraction of his Badgeless police force as his current efforts havent worked out well thus far. All would have a uniformed color palatte of dark blue/black, silver, and bright red. The head designs would be varied between voyagers and deluxes. Voyagers have the traditional visor and face-guard while Deluxes have the concealed visor heads (link HERE). The only difference between each gestalt would be a branded number on the combiner's chestplate.

For the selection of molds the Deluxes figures/limbs go between Air Raid and Streetwise/Prowl. The Voyager mold is Onslaught.

As far as character depiction and/or lore details the combiner itself as no real persnality, acting the same as an obedient drone, yet has the designation of "Judicator". Starscream tried offering the name "Peacemaker" but no one bought onto that a combiner could be peaceful.

 

Once again I resurrect this thread to bring an update. I'm not going to talk about my female combiners but instead Galvatronus. My original and current plan for him is to supply him his own armada using the Fireflight mold as primary limbs with Helicopters as auxiliaries. The idea is to make Galvatronus the Decepticon counterpart to Superion. Sadly there is a problem I had not considered and is why I'm making this post.

In relation to the question of why the Sweeps were never offered as limbs for Cyclonus the answer is monotony. Every combiner has a team that has unique characters. Should you take that aspect away you end up with just drones.

I still intend to finish Galvatronus but I am considering to sell this batch of limbs for an alternate group. As of now I'm taking consideration of the IDW incarnation with Acid Storm. I do not intend on an all-seeker combiner. Another idea is parodying Takara's theme of resurrected characters but instead of time travel instead of dimension hopping. This could add a Senator Ratbat and IDW Roller to the group but I'm not confirmed with the idea yet.

 

As anyone can see by my profile image they will of course know that it is Doctor Robotnik, the greatest scientific genius in the world! Sonic's arch enemy, champion of glorious mustaches, and bromancer of Doctor Albert Wily. So I just thought of what if the magnificent mad doctor got into combiner technology and spawned three ideas of how he would do it.

The first, and by far the simplest, is just taking several vehicles and giving them a uniform color palette based off his own attire. A tank (Brawl), APC (Rook), two jets (Skydive and Air Raid), and either a missile truck (Onslaught) or futuristic jet (Cyclonus).

The second idea is rather than Eggman being the sole character of a combiner it befalls to his officers, the Egg Bosses. This is a comic exclusive idea of Mobians who serve and fight for their self-proclaimed Emperor. In the interest of time I won't provide all the details of the Egg Bosses in this post but instead provide a link to which anyone can look them up yourself should anyone be so inclined. As for the idea itself all this promotes is more character based palettes and vehicle selection in comparison to Eggman's which is more uniformed as it would be exclusively designed after himself.

The third and final idea I have is a mix between the Mega Man games and another Archie comic exclusive from the Archie Sonic & Mega Man crossovers. Early on into this series Sonic's companions were all captured and roboticized into serving the evil bromance of Doctors Eggman and Albert Wily. Eventually the heroes were able to restore their friends and defeat the doctors while also rebooting the comic continuity. In the sequel it was only Sonic and Mega Man that went through this procedure but like in the first series they were able to be restored.

So to summarize this idea it's an advertisement of the standard robot masters from the Mega Man series and/or those from the comic crossover with Sonic becoming a combiner. Again, considering an overall list of both parties I'm not going to list specific ideas since that would take too long. While this suggestion would be hard to follow through due to none of the suggested groups use vehicles, except Charge Man, like with the ideas listed above the idea would be more of vehicles befitting the characters rather than the characters themselves.

 

So I just had an idea. Considering the unique retooling of the Torchbearers I'm wondering if purchasing a second set could be beneficial to my custom combiners.

Pyra Magna becomes a custom Mega Empress for stand alone use.
The helicopter twins replace my current planned copters.
Jumpstream and Dustup get repurposed for my future combiners.
Rust Dust... I dont know yet.
