Humor me with this but for some time now I've been thinking about the improvements that could have been made on the deluxe Windblade mold (although I have yet to own it). I was recently playing around with my custom Prime Slipstream when a thought occurred to me.

What if Windblade was an extensive retooling of First Edition Prime deluxe Starscream?

I'm talking Generations Chromia level of retooling; new legs, chest, and head alongside adding fans to the wings. Would this have actually worked better than creating her own figure?

Now there is one thing that actually comes as a possible issue with this idea and that is wondering if Windblade's head design would actually work with this figure seeing as Starscream's head is so small. Perhaps there could be a mechanism similar to Sunstreaker's "ears" but I'm not entirely certain.

So basically I'm asking if whether or not this is an idea that anyone agrees with. Would you, the reader(s), have wanted this idea I'm suggesting more than the official release of Windblade's deluxe toy or are you content with the official product regardless of it's flaws. Or does this simple not matter to you for whatever reason.

The problem was their intention wasn't to make Windblade. Their intention was to make a new toy whose key details were decided by fans.

Would a remold of Starscream probably have resulted in a better Windblade figure? Sure, maybe. But it wouldn't have resulted in an original figure.

No argument there. In all honesty I just threw the idea out there is all as it's kind of my thing. Sometime I just sit around playing with my figures and wonder if they could work for another character. I was just bored and thought I'd ask if this was a good idea or not because I saw a little TFP Starscream in Windblade's art design and wondered if redesigning the mold would work. I assume that Hasbro wouldn't go through with the idea of using a mold that had limited release for a new character but it's at least food for thought.

Although I guess the question now should be 'Would borrowing this Starscream's engineering make a better Windblade figure?'

wow, you're very close to what I'm thinking of trying too. I had a similar idea of using that FE Starscream to make Windblade better.
